Fave album of 2007 (what's yours?)
Mine is - no, don't snigger - American Doll Posse by Tori Amos, but the doctor has given me tablets.

American Doll Posse was a great album!
I'm struggling to remember what exactly came out this year, but for now I'll say my faves have been
Bjork - "Volta" and Radiohead - "In Rainbows" so it's a coin toss between those 2.

My favorite CD of 2007 was DreamCypher by the Cruxshadows.

Year Zero - NIN
Though In Rainbows, American Doll Posse, and Volta were all pretty damn cool too. And nothing beats the pic of Bjork on the Volta cover. She's so cool.

"Dreamcypher" by Cruxshadows. Besides being a good album. It features two singlesthat made it on the U.S. top 40 charts without any radio airplay("Birthday" peaked at #2).
I found "Mythmaker" by Skinny Puppy to be largely ignored, though I think this likely has to do with the bands change in sound I feel the album was not even given a significant chance. (I have not seen the album mentioned at all on these message boards)

I'm Shocked! Didn't Zeitgeist come out this year? And you don't even have them mentioned? I think I can hear Corgan crying from here. :P

My vote is for In Rainbows.... obviously.
My discbox is in the mail! Can't wait for Disc 2. I've seen on forums, other people talking about it, but I refuse to read, so it can be a surprise.
I'm sure that it's going to be equally awesome, and I'm counting it in as a favourite for this year early. I don't care if I haven't heard it yet. I'm biased.

Difficult to choose, but I`d have to go with Sopor Aeternus - Les Fleurs du Mal. Where his/her previous effort, La Chambre d'echo, was an abrupt change in style from dark neoclassical soundscapes into old school danceable Kraftwerkish electro, the mood was still very dark and dismal, the lyrics being much more strange/abstract. Les Fleurs du Mal, is an abrupt change in mood towards more of a warm/lush Victorian atmosphere and lyrically changes from lonely suicidal laments into playfully humorous commentaries on love, sex, and gay culture.
Other great releases:
yelworC - Icolation
Bjork - Volta
I was a bit disappointed with Skinny Puppy`s Mythmaker, as they`ve gone from their unique dark and chaotic sound that inspired countless clone bands, to more of an industrial metal KMFDM/Atari Teenage Riot sound that`s been done before.
Still, much better than The Greater Wrong of the Right.
Also, :wumpscut:`s Body Census was alright. Nothing incredibly new, but not bad either.
On the black metal front, Nortt`s new album(forget the Danish title) is a beautiful return to his despair-ridden funeral doom dirges.
I`m sure there`s more, but that`s all I can think of right now.
