I have shipped some extra RAM to the GOTH.NET server, since it keeps complaining about running out

It should arrive on Wednesday (7th March, 2007), at which point the server will be taken down for what should be about 10-15 minutes to take it out of the rack, install the RAM, and put it back into the rack.

Let me be the first one to comment on this by saying:

"W00t w00t!" in a classic cheerful mannér! Glad to hear the server is getting some TLC. Thank you for the update Prez!

Wouldn't it be funny, by the way, if the server looked over it's shoulder when it's removed and exclaims:
- "Nice rack!"

OK, its all over and done with.

Though not without some problems - aparently the system was configured to bring up the wrong interface on boot (?!). Add to this the firewall for some reason went haywire and blocked all traffic - and the configuration file that configures the RAID array had been reset to the default, so it could not remember the information about its own RAID array (easy to fix this one at least).

But with the help of the sysadmins at GN's hosting company, we're back in business - and GN now has double the RAM it had (a full 8gb RAM now ).
