my stupidity has gotten the best of me. How do u upload pics to this site so when i talk u see it kinda like an avatar?

First I would like you to read our Board Rules, Tips & Tricks. Netspeak (u instead of you and so on) is NOT allowed on these boards. If you want to upload an avatar you will find the option to do so under Your Control Panel at the top of the board, then go into Personal Info and there you find the avatar options.

If the pic your talking about is a banner seen at the end of every post you make, I would like to inform you that it is not allowed either.

Unlocked to add the following:

If you want to use a picture of your own as an avatar, you're going to have to host it yourself on free webspace/picture hosting site that allows direct/hot linking (geocities and angelfire for example do not).

Photobucket and Snapfish are two picture hosting sites that are pretty good/well-known.

After you have a picture hosting account, such as Photobucket, then you upload your picture there (64x64 pixels only, so please edit larger images down to size, or ask someone with a graphics program to do it for you). Once your picture is up on your image hosting account, you go into the "Your Control Panel" section that's at the top of the forum here, and then to "Personal Info" and then to "Avatar Options". At the bottom of the "Avatar Options" field is a bar where you can fill in the link to your avatar (http://www.photobucket.com/yourimagefile+extension here) and away you go.

Alternatively you can pick an icon from the existing GN selection in the mean time.

This is NOT about any pictures (though it might be nice to have some kind of gallery or something like that)....

But since this thread is labeled "help" I thought I would post here.

I need some help accessing the 'FLORIDA GOTHIC' links here. See, I do not know exactly WHAT it is that I am doing wrong....
but.....

When I click on these Florida Goth links or whatever, they say PAGE NOT AVAILABLE or go to some wierd search engine or some crap.

Maybe they're no good any more or something?
Or could this be a "user error" like my husband suggested to me? (ha. Ha. very funny.)

If you get Page Not Available, it means exactly that. Either it's not available (as in the server isn't responding), or it no longer exists. The links on the main site probably are in need of maintenance, once the Webmistress isn't quite as insanely busy with her real life.
