I, personally, live in Southern Ontario, and I find it hard to find goths to talk to around here, since my school is mainly neo-goths, pop-punks, emo kids, and wiggers. Anyone from the Southern area? (Toronto, Windsor, St.Catherines, Niagara Falls, etc?) If so, SPEAK UP!

I go to South Lincoln High school. I'm 15, and i'm telling you this here because the Private Message thingy was rather confusing to use....but who do you know thats from around that area? you said BDSS so i thought you were talking about Chuck Burtin or whatever his name is. I don't know who he is but i know of him, partly because i'm friends with his girlfriend, but wouldn't this be awkward if you had no idea who i was talking about? It's actualy an entertaining thought....tree he he

I do know Chuck. Biggest poseur ever. Yea, one of my friends went to South Lincoln with him before coming to BDSS, which Chuck soon ended up here as well. Chuck was a prep and a wigger, then didn't get the attention he needed from that, so therefore, he decided "goth" would be the way to go. And now that he gets the attention, he hasn't stop ruining people's ideals of goth.
But besides that, are you grade 10 or 11?

Windsor, eh? Right on. That's probably 1-1 1/2 hours away. Medulla, you've set a trend. One Southern Ontario goth replies, and another joins in. Well, if anyone else is going to speak up, PLEASE do so!
How old are you, Vivisector?

ya, i know what you mean with the whole Chuck thing. It kills me to see how people think they're soo goth by throwing on a Cradle of Filth or Marilyn Manson tshirt. Okay, so i have a Marilyn Manson tshirt, but i don't mislead people to think i'm goth just because i listen to Marilyn Manson.
Also what really annoys me is that people think emo and goth are just the same thing with different names. True goth has nothing to do with a culture based on wearing girls jeans and self mutilation, although they do an unfortunetly efficient job at stealing gothic imagry to the point where anyone who does anything slightly preceived gothic is instantly just labeled emo. And that all because of the people who mislead people's ideals of goths.
Anyways, i'm in Grade 10. Sorry for that pointless rant up above.

Not pointless. Quite an impressive rant, for a tenth grader. But don't worry, I have a couple old Slipknot shirts I used to wear when I was your age. Even though Chuck's girlfriend is your friend, be honest with me. Is she a poseur? Bceause the one girl Chuck would hang off last year of was a HUGE poseur. One day she'd dress prep, next day punk, next day "whory goth" (tiny clothes despite being chunky). And the guy got a fucking WALKING STICK with skulls on it. He's cut himself and shown it off before! Just remember this if you ever meet him. He's a major tool. He was constantly hitting on me when I was in Art with him, until my boyfriend threatened him, so he probably hates me now anyways.
Haha, oh well, tell me more about you (musical interests, hobbies, etc.) if you want to add me to MSN, just say so and I'll PM my e-mail addy.

It's not a problem, Mudulla, however in the future do remember that we try to discourage rants of that type around here. As a small and often misrepresented subculture, we really can't afford to be putting others down. On top of that, we're all very very tired of the old "nobody understands goth" rants.
Like I said, no worries. Just try to avoid it in the future.

Actualy, Chuck's most recent ex-girlfriend was this pale stick, and she was a huge pouser (although i'm not fond of that term because it's so generic, and it's not like these people are inferior to anyone else) and i remember when i was in her room, there was this sign that said "Melanie Rules the Gothic World!" which was EXTREAMLY laughable, but Alicia, the one he's currently dating, isn't posing anything, so i'm friends with Alicia.

Haha, the other day in German, Chuck was wearing a pink boa for attention. I wish I was that cool, then I'd buy every Manson shirt in existance. Not only is it Manson, but its from his new albums. How much more lame can one get? Oh, P.S., He's the King of the Neo Niners. Isn't THAT the shizzle? Haha

The neo niners? as in neo goth? South isn't even cool enough to have real goths, let alone neo goths! I'm pretty much the only one. We don't even have emo kids! Yay, non emo-ness

I live in Stouffville. It's sort of close to Markham( I don't believe that is spelled right.) I'm moving back to uxbridge though.
