I refreshed my session and everything is left-aligned. The bright red blocks have also disappeared.

Jup, that helped. Now the boards are starting to look okay again...

I liked some of the blue buttons...

I realize that the buttons are blue for the moment because you haven't skinned them yet - but I'm wondering... if you're planning on doing that, maybe make them some equally contrasting colour to keep them as obvious as they are now? Actually the steely grey of the "edit" button and whatnot wouldn't be too bad. I totally agree that the "search" and "help/faq" buttons at the top are extremely visible as they are, and may turn some people on to actually using them. I know they may look a bit "garish", but they really do catch your eye this way.

:)

I like the upgraded forum. The emoticons are better then the old ones and the important threads on each board standout more. I can't see any problems anywhere other than Forum jump not working. You guys did a good job, I also agree about making the buttons contrrast with the background more when you reskin them.

The board is still centered for me, I have tried refreshing, logging in and out, and still everything is centered.

Doesnt matter, still the greatest forum around

by the way, also using firefox 1.0.7

the text on the messages is left oriented, but the whole board is centered, with a lot of black space on the sides. Hope that explains it .

The board has always been centered like that for me, I think it look good.

Atleast if we talk about the same "centered" o_O

I like how 'ignore' is considered as important editing and quoting. :p Though this board does not need very much ignoring, I know the function came in handy on other boards I've been to. The fact that it is located on the post itself and not in the user's profile [as I've normally seen it] makes me laugh.

And as a side note, the smilies are not quite perfect. The white around them is not very nice. But that's what you get when you make your board background black. :b

What does everyone mean by centred? I thought at first you were talking about the text being centred aligned for you. The text for me is left aligned and the thread itself and boards are in the centre of the page with black space running down both sides of the screen as it has done for me since 2002 (and I agree with Shadowcrow it looks good this way). I wasn't aware it looked any different for different users. ???

While the thread itself and all that goes with it is in the centre of the page, it's always been this way - what I meant was that the text within it was centre-aligned.

I've cleared my cache and it's now corrected itself. Some of the buttons look different now but, as Lilith mentioned that they haven't had time to skin them, this doesn't worry me unduly. A few other bits look different (read: better) too, 'tis all good.

I guess I never realized it was centred the way it is, funny how you just dont think about things like that. I do like the way things look here. After all, its the content I really come here for.

Was it really like this all along?

*giggles* Yes, it was like this all along. The only differences we're really seeing at the moment consist of aesthetics with the buttons, emoticons, etc since they have not yet been re-skinned. And, of course, there are new buttons, some slight format changes with the upgrade, and the ranking things.

Is there an award for the quirkiest viewing? ;) Not only do I have the "all centered" layout going (but left aligned when previewing my post), but I have 1/2 the new buttons & graphics showing up and 1/2 old buttons & graphics. (I'm running Firefox 1.0.7.)

Goth.net Forums, always keeping things interesting ...

[edit] Apparently, you can't rate yourself.

. . . uh . . .

Not that I was trying to rate myself or anything ... :I

I rated you high Lady A... and your description of the boards is still accurate this end too... Not that I can't cut and paste into notepad... I'm sure it'll all come out right by March...

I don't know about the centered alignment, but holding shift and pushing reload should force firefox/IE to update your cache, which should fix the images.

Umm...n00b question here, what exactly does the 'ignore' feature do?

I've just noticed, when using the search function, the only topics that display are those since the forum was upgraded. Is this going to be changed soon, so we can search older topics too, or is this it?

It sets up a relationship such that when you are logged in, you can ignore all posts made by a certain user. Like, if you click ignore on a post I made, going forward, you wouldn't see posts made by me.
