First of all, I know they're not goth but I figured some people on here might be interested.

Opeth are doing an Australian and New Zealand tour! Woot.

Dates:

April

20th - Perth, Loout
21st - Adelaide, The barton theatre
23rd - Melbourne, The Forum
24th - Melbourne, The forum
25th - Sydney, Big top/Luna Park
27th - Brisbane, The Arena
29th - Auckland, St James Theatre

I'm getting my plane tickets sorted soon for Auckland and I *think* the tickets go on sale mid-january.

They're coming to Perth?!?! WOOT! :D My brother and I were concerned that we'd have to travel to Adelaide or something the next time they visit Oz. I assume you meant 'The Lookout' right? ;) When the hell do tickets go on sale?!

I have no idea, I just copied that from their site. I also don't know when the tickets go on sale, maybe mid-january.

Unfortunately, I'm not going anymore. Hope you enjoy it.

Yays, Opeth....
The gig venue on their actual site seems to have been changed to Capitol now instead of the Lookout for some reason..

I noticed that on the official Opeth site...but still no information about where to buy tickets when they go on sale and how much they will cost. :(

My suggestion for tickets is go to Ticketek and look up the band or the date the concert is on, and it should have it listed.

They are out now, I just posted about it on the 'Roll Call' thread accidentally. :/ I bought two tickets worth $58.50 each from Planet video Mt Lawley. Mine were the first two tickets released here in Perth! hehe #'s 001 & 002. :D

Haha, lucky you. Do you think they're likely to sell out? Hopefully I'll get round to buying tickets soon anyway but just wondering...

Opeth are much more popular now than a few years ago when they last toured here, so please do try to get your ticket(s) in the next fortnight. Planet only have 100 out of the total for the concert of 800. I bought 2 so there was only 98 tickets left at Planet Video in Mt Lawley after I got my ticket and my brother's ticket. They will sell quickly I feel. So do get a move-on if you wish to see Mikael, the two Martins and co on stage, it will be an awesome event! I know what their songlist will be, they picked the best songs to play!!! :D

Well I got a ticket without any hassle, now I just have to convince one of my generally mainstream/metal-hating friends to go with me..... ooh, what songs are they gonna play? Do you know if both Martins are actually going to be there, as I heard rumours that Lopez was still unwell or something....

I can't find the song set that they will be playing, IU have it somewhere...grrr. I know that they will play the old faves like Demon of the Fall, Amen Corner, Karma, The Leper Affinity, Wreath, A Fair Judgement and they will be playing Ghost of Perdition and The Grand Conjuration from the new album. (The Grand Conjuration was encoré in some cities they have recently toured.) :) I can't remember exactly what tracks they have in the set, but I am quite sure that these will be played. Also, maybe a few mellow ones like Harvest, Atonement, Windowpane and Death Whispered a Lullaby.

When you say unwell do you mean really ill like an illness that could last for months, or just something small like a cold/flu? Because our concert isn't for another two months.

Ah k, cheers for the list. I meant ill as in long term, because of how his rare blood disorder thing affects him, but I now don't think the person who told me that it would prevent Lopez from playing the Australian gigs on their tour really had any factual basis for saying so or knew what he was talking about ie. it's probably crap...sorry =p
