Ooo... well right now I'm really into Rasputina. But I also love System of a Down and Korn [I found out recently that I have unknowingly liked Korn since I was seven. It makes me laugh] :b
From what I've read so far, it seems that everyone hates Marilyn Manson. I don't mind if he's working with Rasputina though!

 Sigur Ros and Joy Division are the holiest of the holy. I have never heard anything more pure as far as the rock/pop format goes. I haven't heard a bad song by either of them yet, and the ones that I have heard are just so hypnotizing and ethereal, I swear that both of these bands have tapped into some sort of spiritual essence. I have heard from various interviews and what not that both of these bands had no idea what they were doing when they wrote songs, they just played and let the music control them, and it seems to me that that is the key. Its like these random people were magically brought together, totally out of their control, and from them flowed some important message from some other realm of consciousness. My personal interpretation is spiritual need/longing...as fitting with the times. Who knows, maybe I'm nuts like Charles Manson was when he thought of the Beatles as four angels that spoke to him through their music. Be that as it may, these bands are fucking deep and write some powerful music, and will surely get your emotions running if you listen with an open mind.
Now as far as other music goes, I'm a big fan of:
Bauhaus
Siouxsie and the Banshees
The Cure
My Bloody Valentine
Wire
Sonic Youth
The Velvet Underground
Pink Floyd
Mission of Burma etc...

Taking Back Sunday,
Fall Out Boy,
Sunny Day Real Estate,
Brand New,
Hawthorne Heights.
I also like bands like The Cure as I respect what they have done to shape modern day music.

Sonic - fucking - Youth.
The Cure.
New Order/Joy Divison. (Though Prefer New Order)
And i'll throw in Radiohead.
I would happily die to any of these bands songs.
