Or:

Audio Galaxy.

I'd check out auction sites if you're looking for a second hand/cheaper copy. Second Spin is a good online second hand store that has a pretty decent selection. I managed to find a $2.99 copy of Big Electric Cat's DREAMS OF A MAD KING cd there after I'd been searching for that for like 2 years+. Good service etc. GEMM is also a place to check out for cheaper or harder to find cd's.

morpheus.com isn't actually the website for the downloading agent Morpheus. It's some different music tool.

The popular Morpheus filesharing agent can be found here: www.musiccity.com.

Lilith - who only now remembered.

Morpheus Preview Edition, sucks ass. Word of advice :)

Audiogalaxy is nifty, but sometimes you can't download a song because of "copyright" reasons. Usually you can find it under a different name, but it's not that big of a deal for some non-mainstream bands.

Yes, I noticed their Preview Edition sucked arse... I couldn't get it to log on. So I downloaded Gnucleus instead, also logs on to the Gnutella p2p servers and Morpheus PE is based on it so it looks almost the same. I didn't have any problems.

Unfortunately they're not as popular as the old Morpheus was so there's not a huge selection availible (yet). I'm considering downloading Kazaa again, which was the same as the old Morpheus but have been told by a friend that that network is about to collapse so not to bother.

Audiogalaxy is good, this is true... and yes, if you're looking for more obscure stuff it's not a problem that they have the copyright stuff set up.

As soon as one of them gets good, something happens to it *grr*

Morpheus preview blows goats.

check out KaZaa. It's available at http://www.kazaa.com

It has the exact same interface that old morpheus had and there are usually about 1 million people logged in at any given time. I've seen it go from 1.2 million down to about 800K users but that's as low as I've seen it. The selection is unreal.

Kazaa launched an upgrade (didn't change the interface at all) in order to handle all the users who were defecting from morpheus. There's no sign of it going down.

Yes, I know Morpheus and Kazaa are the same (read my previous post :P ).

A friend did mention that that network is on the verge of collapse though, but I'm guessing that it's currently still a lot better than gnucleus/new Morpheus/etc which sucks. I can search and find stuff just fine, downloading it just won't work... it's constantly looking for new hosts, I think 300kb is the most I've gotten of anything.

I used to have both kazaa and morpheus, at the time it didn't make much difference which you used as they were the same. Meanwhile my computer has undergone a re-format a few months ago so I lost kazaa then. Time to download again.

I've found irc to be handy for movie d/l's though.
