This thread is inspired in some way by another thread, namely desperation...unknown band/song title Help. I felt that there was a need for a thread for just that but I thought it was better to begin a new thread instead of trying to turn a thread which was specificly about just two songs.
But anyways, it's often that you hear a song, you like it but you don't remember enough of the lyrics to google it or you just plainly hear the wrong words. Or the song is just plainly instrumental or in a language you don't know so you can't google it. The idea is that you post what you think you heard along with any information on the song you can provide such as wether the vocalist is male or female, the singing style, what kind of music it is and if possible guitar chords or piano notes. Like Morrissey sand: "There's always someone, with a big nose who knows"
Just a note though, do please google the information you have, 9 out of 10 times that's enough to get what you need.

I actually like this idea. It does sound much better than having several random threads floating around to ask about one or two specific songs. However, such a thread could be slow moving and get easily buried (and we can't count on people thinking to search for it), so let's pin it for now and see how it goes.

Thank you scarlettdraelynkhar. I had a bit of a shock though, I couldn't locate the thread at first and consequently went "oh shite, I managed to post the thread into the wrong forum, I should bloody know how to do this propperly after three years on the boards"

Wow, I think that's a great idea. I think I'll post some of the things that I need, it happens to me all the time, I listen to something but don't know what band or artist it is, so thanks Darktan. Also scarlettdraelynkhar, Isn't there a way to keep this topic in the Music/DJ list? like lock it there or something.

Ooo me me me! I have one I've been looking for forever. They played it in my club a couple times like half a year ago, but I don't speak enough German and at the time didn't think to ask who it was. What I know is that it's French and has a kindof "Traume Mit Mir" (Grauzone)/"Photographic" (Depeche Mode) sound to it. And the words are sung fairly monotonously, not changing pitch in three eigth notes then a eighth note rest. I don't know the words, but they're something like "Les-En-fants-(rest) A-mour-eux-(rest) Qu-blah-blah-(rest) Blah-blah-moi-(rest)" Hehe. Otherwise, I know that it's one of those songs that you'd cry it's so good, except then you'd miss your chance to dance to it!
I don't know if that's at all enough to go on. But if someone knows it, or maybe a good French band it may be, I'd give em a big kiss!

Umm....it is pinned at the top of the Music/DJs forum. How much more accessible do you expect me to make it?

I've got one thats a booger to find. The lyrics are;
In that case, let me be a fisherman, I'll fish for my love with my sorrows.
At the end I think the singer's singing in Spanish, but I may be wrong.

well, there was that song in Pay It Forward that the kid played in his room when his dad came back. It sounded like NIN ( sort of )
Anyone know what it's called?

if something's in a movie, you should check http://www.imdb.com
search the title of the flick and then select soundtrack listing
usually most flicks have thier official soundtrack songs and songs that were used in the filmes artist and title of
http://imdb.com/title/tt0223897/soundtrack
that's the one for pay it forward, although it only lists 2 songs

If anyone could tell me the title and the name of the artist who made this song, I'd be forever grateful. Google doesn't seem to know more than me, but here's a fragment of the lyrics I remember:
(...)
"So take the weight, and let it all flow
And only you know, and only you know, and only...
Could you
Destroy me from the inside?
Could you
Dig deep into my mind?
Could you
Give me something to believe in?
Could you
Just push me aside?
I guess it's nothing so bad (I don't want to be?)
There's nothing I've done you don't want to see"
(...)
Edit: Maybe it helps a little if I tell it's an electro-EBM-industrial-ish song. At least, it was played at an electro/industrial party.

That is a song by Fields of Nephilim called "Bleed".

Can anyone help with this. Here's some lyrics. I think it's Nirvana.
Who likes all our pretty songs And he likes to sing along

Google is a very good thing.
It's In Bloom, and it is indeed by Nirvana.
