Much appreciated! However, this part of the seminar struck me as questionable:
"And if a person is "fixed and they can't really find this Telepathy thing", there is one other thing which can be handled and that is improve the psychic Theta ability. And that's done, again, with processing and training in Scientology. That's what's been doing it for thirty years. And you notice it's been one of those heavily attacked subjects in the world. And fanatics and suppressives try to take it over, rob it, kill it, blind it, kill the people in it and everything else. It's so fantastic because it does improve psychic abilities, I can guarantee you that. And the people that have done it honestly for thirty years do have quite good psychic abilities. So. This will do it. But make sure you go to the right people. Not to people that are trying to rip you off. Go to some of the Free Zone Independent Groups and they will give you the processing and training necessary that will help you with these abilities."
Scientology? Having read 'Dianetics' and having done some netresearch (including shocking tales of those who escaped and lived to tell about it)into this modern 'religion', I've been deeply sceptical since. Methinks this is a cult, morelike. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

It felt like my head was stuck, and my body was trying to float away. then, about 7:45ish am, Suddenly, it felt like I was slammed back into my body, hard. Yes, this was the night/morning of Sept 11,2001. Right as the first plane hit, it felt like I was being forcibly slammed back into my body. I also had the distinct feeling that something was Wrong. I ended up getting up and going to the lounge of my dorm, where I turned on the tv. To be shocked to see the first reports of the attacks. Unsettling to say the least...
Your experience is really interesting; I've had similar experiences when I tried astral projection. The floating feeling starts in my chest and spreads down the rest of my body and into my forehead, but I can't seem to get the back of my head unstuck. I usually get a headache and give up.

sorry for not commenting, tempramental computer...
kitsune- absolutely fascinating, i would love to hear more about your experiences, Garrett as well
i can say that fish do often follow my fingers, as if i'm commanding them, but then again the ever-waning voice of skepticism makes me wonder if my fingers simply look appetizing...
I've been working on tuning my ability to see auras, and was wondering if anyone here has that ability or has been working with it?
A site if anyone is interested : http://skepdic.com/auras.html
also, I find that if a focus out slightly, just sitting or standing, it as if I can see the air moving in all directions, sometimes I see what looks like curls of stream wafting upwards, though abnormally transparent. Does this relate to anything you might know of?
DrXny - great sites, thanks
I agree with kitsune and garrett also on reading about the paranormal - i suggest "Grave's End" by Elaine Mercado, R.N- though short (approx 136 pages) it is, as most works on the paranormal are, fascinating
I've also been reaading more about Uri Geller-truly inspiring

I know your question wasn't directed at me DrXnY, but I have found:
"Scientology is about the individual man or woman. Its goal is to bring an individual to a sufficient understanding of himself and his life and free him to improve conditions in the way that he sees fit. "
I'm sure this is an extremely rough interpretation of the entire topic, here's a site:http://www.whatisscientology.org/html/foreword/index.html
I'm sure Garrett can elaborate much better
I can definitely say that already i'm not fond of it...

My paranormal abilities are centered around my dreams.
I dream about ghosts. Sometimes I'll get the whole story as to why they haunt. All of them had tragic lives, or they died in horrible ways. Other times I'll just dream about the ghosts as if I'm experiencing them in real life.
In one dream I had last year, I was swapping bodies with strangers. We were lying down on separate beds. My spirit would leave my body, one of their spirits would leave one their bodies, and then my spirit inhabited the stranger's body. It felt perfectly normal and natural, even in the bodies of the females.
The most significant things in my life are known by me beforehand in premonition dreams. I had dreams about being Gothic when I was very young, way before I even knew what a Goth was.
I saw my future (and current) best friend in a very emotional, waking premonition. It revolved around a certain locale and a certain song (Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper). He used to live very close to the place I saw and felt in the vision.
When I'm not familiar with what a premonition is foretelling, my mind comes up with the closest approximation.

No corrections needed Garrett, you're absolutely right.
To further elaborate on the Scientology thing, I reccomend you all check out Operation Clambake, which has all the information you need on this bunch of swindlers and crooks. In particular, read Bare Faced Messiah (quite long) and The Xenu Leaflet (short but sweet), and you'll have no doubts whatsoever that $cientology is a load of old bollocks.
I now return you to the scheduled programme.

Well, the thing that struck me after having read through most of this "Dianetics" (by L. Ron Hubbard), was how thoroughly manipulative it was. It applies a terminology in such a way that one automatically will begin thinking in these terms after a while. One of the main claims of the book is that one must be made "clear" through so called auditing sessions, a combination of hypnosis and psychology. Supposedly, these orders will control your subconscious when something triggers it. (E.g. sounds that were heard in the unconscious state when the verbal orders were uttered)
The moment I read claims that homophilia is a disease, a "sickness that cannot be tolerated", I stopped reading. I've mostly repressed the contents, but I recall an example of the author's reasoning: one can be fed with "orders" in an unconscious state, which have to be removed through auditing to remove this repressing knot.
The 'church of scientology' continues to use Hollywood celebrities (Tom Cruise comes to mind) as a way of luring naive, unknowing ones into their fold. You need a LOT of money to pay for these sessions that you supposedly need, and a LOT of money to rise in their hierarchy (they have closed meetings and restricted areas! $cientology indeed...
Stay away from this load of bollocks, people!

Oh, paranormal experiences... I've had quite a few of them, too. Let's see, there must be some left in my brain archive... Oh yes.
- When my grandmother died, I wasn't crying, even though I loved her more than I loved my parents. Instead, I kept telling people she was alive - because effectively, I could still hear her wish me goodnight when I went to sleep.
- Deja vu. 'Nuff said.
- I sometimes have dreams that come true. Well, actually I have dreams, and I have a dream dictionary which is just about always right. It's scary sometimes; the book predicted that, even with my rather deep flunks for some subjects, I would pass all but one of my final exams last year. When I had to redo that exam, the book predicted I'd pass that one.
- I have a pendulum. It's almost always right, and I can find things with it too. One time, the top ball of my navel piercing (which is about 2mm diameter) fell on the ground and rolled away. I let the pendulum rock, followed the direction in which it swinged, and found the little ball stuck under a carpet.

haha! those are good! thanks for putting them up!
About Uri Geller: the comic was funny, but in reality he isn't really a psychic. He's a 'magician' ( i mean ones that do tricks ). If you look around on the internet, i'm sure you'll find at least 10 ways to 'bend spoons'

well. I've had a few dreams come true. and also something happened about a year ago. there was this kid who had cancer. I got to school one day and before anyone talked to me or anything I just knew he had died. later that day we found out he had died.
Another time I saw a girl in the middle of the street. I swear I saw her get hit by a bus but when the bus kept going there was no splattered little girl anywhere.
oh, also. deja vu. I have it almost all the time. atleast every other day

for my whole life i've always been interested in the paranormal, especially on the side of ghosts and spirit activity, I've been researching various Occult subjects for a year and a half now and my favorite subject is still searching for spirits, or as some call it, ghost hunting.
I've gone ghost hunting in i think every local graveyard I could find, (sadly only 3) and have found some very interesting things, such as "orbs". most people I talk to tell me orbs are basicly energy from ghosts caught on film and what made me a beleiver was after taking quite a few pictures I started to notice them, being skeptical I always try to disprove things before I get all happy I found something, so I matched up different photos, to see if it was a car headlight or street light, or dust and each time I find, the colour, shape and position (such as round, blueish, or orngy, and in front of a tree) always seem to suggest they arnt camera malfunctions (also a note I've been doign photography for most of my life as my parents are into it) so we have fairly good cameras that rairly malfunction.
I can't wait til this summers season of ghost hunting, even I don't find anything, at the very least I get a night out with my friends and some nice nighttime pictures

Hmm...I've had a few interesting things happen to me.
-When I was a kid, my mom had a friend who lived in a haunted house, but I never knew that it was haunted, by the ghost of a little girl who had died in her bedroom. I would run around all over that house with my mom's friend's daughter, except for one particular room, which I wouldn't go into. I told my mom about it one day, and she asked why I didn't go there. I told her that there was something in there that I "didn't like". She just nodded like she understood. Only a few years ago, when we were driving by the house (Mom's friend no longer lives there) did I find out that it's haunted, and the room I never wanted to go into was...you guessed it...the little ghost girl's old bedroom, where she died and had been seen the most.
-One day when I was about ten, I was at home alone. My mom was at work, not expected to return for at least an hour or two, and I was completely by myself, with the exception of about 15 or 16 cats. I had been on edge ever since I'd returned home from school, but hadn't been able to figure out why. I was lying in bed, watching MadTV, when all of a sudden, I hear heavy footsteps in the hallway, approaching my room.
Who or whatever it was sounded like it was big, either that or it walked heavily on its "feet" and/or was wearing combat boots or some other type of shoe that makes a heavy thud on wood flooring. It walked to my bathroom, opened the door, switched the bathroom light on and off, slammed the bathroom door, and walked back down the hall. Cats can't do those things, and I would have known if there was someone else in the house with me; I would have heard front door open and/or someone trying to break into the house through a door or window.
-Other than that...I sometimes get feelings that I'm not alone when I know I am, I've had a ghost child sitting on my back, I have really bad feelings of foreboding before something genuinely horrible happens to me or someone else whom I'm close to, I have some amazingly realistic dreams every now and then, and often when I think of a song and then turn on the radio, the song that I was thinking of will be playing.
