idk about you guys but when i bought the new cure album i was a little disappointed... like it didn't sound very Cure to me. also this new producer they got was awful... he produces bands like slipknot and korn... it was just bad. i mean this album is a lot of distorted guitars and stuff, it doesn't sound right, its not the Cure im used to. There's a few good songs on there "End of the World" "The Promise" and "Anniversary", but my problem is, the samples and effects they used on this record aren't good at all, it just disappointed me and i wished they did better. i'm waiting for another album like "Disintegration". :l

Meh. It was alright, but a bit weak.

Far too grunge-sounding for my tastes.... I prefer Pornography.

It was alright. I followed the guidelines and decided to listen to it in the dark. Helps a bit.
It's no Pornography however.

Liked it, nothing to write home about though.

I liked it, but Disintegration is still my favourite. The Cure (The album) has its ups and downs, but I find it to be a decent album. Personal favourite songs are Alt. End and Us or Them.

Google
The Cure: Official Site
By the way, don't hijack a thread to ask us to do your research for you. And, it's "please" and "thanks." Netspeak won't get you anywhere.

I'm a nig fan of The Cure...their new album was alright. I saw them when they did a local concert in D.C., wow...never realized how creepy he looked.

Wow....people are tripping over themselves left, right, and center here.....Complaining that the album is too grunge, then stating that the heavier pornography is better? Disliking the idea of a nu-metal producer doing the album, then saying you like the most nu-metal song (end of the world)?
I hate it when it gets cool to dislike certain releases.....

I bought this album last Saturday. Overall, I like it. I like "Us or Them" alot. I like "The End of the World", but I don't think it's close to their better stuff. I would give thisa 7 out of 10.
I like it the more I listen to it. I've listened to all of the Cure's albums, but The Cure is the first I've bought. I could have made a better first purchase, but it's okay. I've been searching for Pornography, but am having trouble finding it near me. Does anyone have any MP3's they wouldn't mind sending to me?
