I have a few HIM songs downloaded on my computer because I heard that they were pretty good. I might buy a cd soon, they were good in my opinion.

Actually, when I first heared Solitairy Man (It was the first one I heared) I wanted to PUKE,But I thought that a band cant be judged by only one song so i got the guts to listen to a couple more (I really didn't wanna have the PUKE feeling again) and i kinda liked it...so I heared Solitairy Man again I kinda liked it and now I have 4 albums=bonus tracks and I just love the band (The first time I heared it was less then a wek ago :P).
BTW something like this happened to me with Evanescence earlier (Except for the PUKING part)...and speaking about HIM...i dont really like the latest album,I really prefer the earlier ones...:)
P.S. Something like this happens to me now with "The 69 Eyes" (except the fact I still dont really love the songs, but at least I got over the puknig part *wiping sweat happily*).:D

like i said before, i hate them. One of the most ovious reasons is...... there are wannabes at my school that laugh at me because they think that goth is HIM. You see, they have NEVER heard real goth music, yet they are quick to say that HIM is goth. Media+HIM = SHIT IN WANNBES' HEADS!!

Well whether you are a fan or not (clearly you are not), you should not make unfounded suggestions about the band or their vocalist. Do you know from experience that Ville's voice only seems great because of the studio work? or are you just making the same claim that everybody does about artists they don't like? I should also add it is not the bands fault that the general population hasn't a clue what real gothic music is.

They're OK, I can tolerate them, but I think they sound like Manson with estrogen poisoning.

That is a rather unique and entertaining way to describe them. I don't really agree with it but its funny nevertheless.

I've been listening to them quite a bit lately but the new stuff just isn't getting me. They've been cut too much by they record labels approving so that the music will sell to a younger crowd, if that continues on they'll eventually lose sales and become like many other artists that give in to the demands of the big wigs. Record labels tend to forget that artists sell albums in the beginning because people like what they hear but they don't always let the artist grow in the direction they want but the direction the general population wants. Even then sometimes the direction of growth some artist lean towards can kill a career in the blink of an eye. It's all about another dime for most.

I adore HIM, but I definitely prefer their older stuff. And for the record, I am a girl, with a liking for Ville... but me liking someone for their looks doesn't make me automatically like their music, period. I certainly don't count his appearance as a good reason I should like the band, and I really despise anyone who thinks that way. Seeing them live made me realise how many pathetic girls there are. Proclaiming your love for Ville Valo on a brick wall is a sad, sad thing to do.

I can't really rate how good they are live... Ville had been sick and the previous concert was cancelled, and he did sound ill, which was disappointing. Still, from what I've seen, he's very breathless a lot of the time. He should cut down on the cigarettes.

"Finally, one day I was walking into Wendy's and there was a huge group of kids all with heartogram sweatshirts on. I didn't know what the heartogram was, so I asked them, and one of them looked at me and said, "Well, of course a poseur like you wouldn't know who HIM is!" That basically sealed the deal for my negative outlook. I don't take with that Gothier-than-thou."

If you are still wondering the meaning of the heartagram.. Note HEARTAGRAM, it is a combination of "good and evil" The heart and the pentagram. Though Ville invented it one day when he had a hangover so that kinda takes the shine off.. Lol. ;)

"He should cut down on the cigarettes."

And the guy has asthma... :( Not very smart.

I absolutely love their cover of Wicked Game, but for the rest...

"there are wannabes at my school that laugh at me because they think that goth is HIM. You see, they have NEVER heard real goth music, yet they are quick to say that HIM is goth. "

I know the feeling. You see kids everywhere wearing heartagram t-shirts or sweaters, the heartagram is graffiti'ed (is that a word?) ALL OVER Antwerp and, to make it all just that bit worse, the HIM kiddies love to laugh at me when I pass by in a dress or skirt because I'm either "overdoing it" or "only doing it to impress others" or just plainly "a poseur". WTF? X)

As i said previously, i do like HIM and i start loving their songs more and more (especially the album "Razorblade Romance") with every single moment....but although i'm not goth and i'm not an expert, but i still know that they're not goth and i also see tons of wannabees with the heartagram t-shirts but i usually just ignore them and not even look at their direction....

And a little something for DrXnY... If there are tons of wannabees that annoy you because of HIM it doesnt mean u gotta hate their songs... Personally me, I hate Manson but i just love their songs so i'll never go to a live preformance or buy a CD but i do download their songs cuz i like the songs....

Dima.
