They couldn't have done better if they made a life size chocolate replica of Johnny Depp. *swoon*
I lurve that coat! And I have a feeling that I'll be making one for a certain nightstalker in the near future....

I've got that exact colour in a heavy upholstery velvet minus the nice stripes.
Tailoring with velvet sucks.

Here, here.
I need to find myself a nice cut-patterned burgundy velvet this month for another pending project as well.

I've just been on the Burton collective (and I've posted the following stuff for those who can't access the site or are too lazy to):
http://www.timburtoncollective.com/charlie.html
It says the film comes out 15th July. It's also added more to the cast list - for instance it now says that Christopher Lee is playing Willy Wonka's father!
Here's a a news article with a very short interview with Tim Burton:
http://www.suntimes.com/output/movies/cst-ftr-wonka03.html
Here's one with Johnny Depp this time:

Some pics on this site of the sets:

Here's a pic of a Wonka bar:

You...people...are...killing...me. Tim Burton is holy, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a classic that needs to be revisited, and Mr. Depp is a dreamboat (a dreamboat that is old enough to be my father, I might add...but a girl can dream, can't she?) :b :b
Not wind nor rain nor driving snow shall stop me from seeing this movie.
*Realizes that the only way for there to be snow in July is through a result of some freak accident of nature.* I guess I'm in luck, then.

I actually know the answer to this one. Quaker Oats was planning on relaesing a new candybar right around the time Wolper was thinking of CITCH as a movie. He said I got a great promotional thing for ya.
They cahnged it to Willy Wonka because Quaker Oats made a Wonka Bar, not a Charlie Bar. Sadly, people hated the candy and .... *cough* loved the movie.
And thats the way it was.

There still is a company called Willy Wonka that make sweets and chocolate. They make stuff like Everlasting Gobstoppers, Dweebs, Super Sour Dweebs, Nerds, Neon Nerds, Fizzy Jerks (I think that's what they were called, came in black wrappers) Wonkalate bars (disgusting purple chocolate), Wonka Xploder bars among other things. I'm not sure exactly who owns this company or if it's even related to Quaker Oats, but I just thought I'd mention it. Anyone remember the Nerd ice-creams?

After a bit of searching, it is revealed that the Wonka candies are all trademarks of Société des Produits Nestle S.A., Vevey, Switzerland.
*phew* That was going to bother me all day. :p

Johnny Depp is a dreamboat that is right within my age range. I've been in love with him since 21 Jump Street first aired.
He'd better watch out if I ever wind up single. He'll definitely have another stalker to add to his list.
~spider, who feels old as most will be "21 Jump...what?"

I've got a roll of Wonka Bottlecaps in my desk right now. It's almost as if I have a new connection to Johnny Depp
And spiderlimbs...I used to watch 21 jump street when I was wee. Or, rather my sister watched it and I was around while she was doing it and as such wound up watching it by default...... and now we BOTH have the hots for Johnny Depp. Coincidence? i think not.

I'll bet he secretly relishes the fact that he has thousands of female fans worshipping the ground that he walks on.

That picture makes me question my sexuality.
I too am looking forward to seeing the end result of this project. If there's anyone who can be guaranteed to convey the mood of the original books, it's Tim Burton.
