This year PreZ and I will be attending Bats Day In The Fun Park, the annual gathering of Goths in Disneyland. I've been wanting to go to this ever since I first heard of it, and now we finally get to go.

The delectable Rose and Nachty will also be going, as well as being our hosts for the week we're in LA.

So, who else is going?

For more information: http://www.batsday.net/

It's on Sunday August 29th in Disneyland, Anaheim, CA.

Tickets are availible through the Bats Day website thru July 31st. There are 3 different kinds of tickets that will give you access to various pre-Bats Day things, like a bazaar and a meet and greet dinner with entertainment. Obviously you could skip all that and just show up in Disneyland and just purchase a ticket into the park at the gate, though one of Bats Day's packages includes entry into the park as well.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to a day of non-depressed black-clad fun in the theme park!

:b

Will you (or even PreZ, B.R. or Nachty) be posting any photos online when you come back? I'm sure I'm not the only one that'd love to see our favorite mods hugging Winnie the Pooh or on a Magic Carpet ride.

I would say that pictures are pretty much inevitable. I shall have to find the charging station for my digital camera . . . and also learn how to use the damn thing. The good news, however, is that when said pictures are accomplished, you will get the four of us gothed to the nines for the event. Rose is even sewing special his-and-hers coats for she and I to step out in. She gets the rose brocade and satin, and I get the luminescent red lining and fancy pleather trim.

I like Doomie. He seems like a really cool cat. Unfortunately, I may die before attending a Bats Day in the Fun Park, especially now that I live in FLorida, so a big rasberry goes out to all who are attending this year. :p

Sounds like a hoot, but I'll be trying to settle into my new digs and looking for work so I have $$ for future events.

Have a fab..er..gloomy time and be sure to get lots of pictures. :)

Between seeing The Damned, The Black Heart Procession, and The Cure, I won't have much money left with which to go to Disneyland. Such a shame, too. I was really looking forward to it

Now that Bats Day is over, could you share your experiences with the board? I've been but not as a Goth-that is what finally got me fully into Goth (I was Goth way before I knew there was a title for it, so I didn't know what it was all about until we were there for Bats Day).

I'm not sure if I plan to renew my annual passport at Disneyland and this day is one of the factors I'm putting into consideration. Thanks!

[slightly deviating from the main topic]

We so need a day like this in the UK. Somewhere major other than Whitby we can all go to (other than that there's only smaller events that not many people know about and you always seem to find out about them at the last minute). Only at Alton Towers instead, that would be cool. Alton Towers is better than Disney - real towers with a history behind it and lovely old Victorian gardens that you can easily get lost in, it would be the perfect place. :D

So start one up?

The US version started as just a grassroots thing with a bunch of people who knew each other going, and it went from there.

The obvious main problem for the UK would be the weather, which is not very predictable. California it's sunny for about 363 days of the year from what I understand, at least in LA.
