there is a really cool hairstyle that isnt for everyone but if you like it your free to try it...
what you have to do is braid all layers of you hair in individual braids (make sure there kinda small too) but leave the top layer of hair loose...then after that all you do is crimp the top layer of hair simple but the braiding takes awhile that is the only disadvantage...

try this for all that is daring...
braid the all layers of your hair EXCEPT the top layer leave that loose oh and make sure that all braids are kinda small and individual (pointless to tell you all that but just for good terms) and then after that you crimp the top layer of your hair...if you dont like it you can always take it out.

I was wondering, is there a guide (with pictures or drawings) for making french braids? If so, please do share.

Okay, here's the deal. I'm a guy, with fairly long hair. It's kind of big and wavy, and occasionally poofy. It's been bleaching and dyed and it's currently red and a little damage; I'm dying it permanently blue/black and growing it out.
Thing is, I've been thinking of changing the style. I found this picture of Siouxsie Sioux: http://img47.exs.cx/img47/5527/sioux.png and I really love the hairstyle. Thing is, I want the shorter layers to be a little longer, but I'm not sure if that'd work. Does anyone have pictures of similiar styles so I can choose one to work with? Preferably on guys.
Right now all i have is 2 goth comic book characters that have a similiar style, The Sandman and the Crow =P and it's a little shorter than I want it.

Well, I am currently growing my hair after having to shave my mohawk off. It is about an inch long right now. My hair is very curly and it will fro out if I let it, so I have found that washing it often and making sure to comb it out keeps it smaller, as does wearin a beenie or doorag when you sleep. I have been planing on letting it grow til I get sick of it, but wrestling season is coming up and that means that my hair can't go past my eyes. I dont want ot keep it flatten out like I have it now so any ideas are much apperciated and if any of you know a good website for getting dreads and taking care of them I would be very happy.(NO white boy dreads, I am not going with out washing my hair just to keep the dreads in)

My hair's curly on the ends and pretty thick besides.Think Jim Morrison (maybe not THAT curly) just a little shorter (seven inches on the sides, five and a half in front). I've thought about doing the dreads thing, and I came across this:
http://www.perfectdreadlocks.com/
Needless to say, that didn't go over too well with my mom no matter how many times I tried to tell her they'd be clean.
Right now, Jim Morrison/Joey Ramone length is my goal, so we'll see...

Thanks for the link, I think if my hair is long enough after wrestling season I will try to dread it.

The only thing I can tell you right now is to wait for it to grow out. It takes forever man and I know that it sucks, I am in the middle of growing it right now.

Do you all really think an hour is a long time to do your hair? Mine takes like 6 six hours to braid. (beside the point)
Anyone here w/ natural (black, african amreican, whatever) hair? Spiking my har is NOT an option unless I relax my hair and I just spent 6 months growing it out. It's like 2-3 inches long. Any suggestions? I will be forever grateful. Really.
