I remember seeing Edward Scissor Hands for the first time when I was young, I remember everyone in the theatre crying throughout the film. but I think the real reason I love this movie is it seems to be about everything people like us went through in high school...I was very artistic, and respected for it (Like Edward and his Topiary, or his ice sculptures), but when my back was turned, I was the butt of everyone's jokes. things turned around when I learned to play the drums, we (The guys in the band) all of a sudden were swamped with a much larger group of 'friends', by then, however, highschool was over, and at the end of the last year I told all the people I knew to fuck off and never talk to me again. just reminds me of Edward's toubles in the movie.

tough tough choice
but nightmare before christmas wins it as im a huge danny elfman fan (i want to be him) and i think everything he did for that was just so fucking amazing
mind you i also love all the shit he did for the other movies
especially edward scissorhands
on the 10th anniversary edition of it on dvd you can watch the movie with danny commentating
the movie works on so many more levels when yuo can only hear the music
i must admit it brought a tear to my eye

I'm really torn on this one. I loved Big Fish...I cried and I cried.
But I liked Edward Sissorhands..
And I went from age 13 + humming every tune in NBC.
I thought Sleepy Hollow was awesome.
Beetlejuice's greatness is beyond suspicion.
Ed Wood made me absolutely bust at the seams
James and the Giant Peach(I had read the book and loved it) was perfect.
Batman was a work of demented art. (As was Returns)

And Finally...
Planet of the Apes made me vomit

If I had to pick a favorite from that plethora of greatness...I would pick

(Drum roll)

Big Fish

(I could try and explain why I liked this movie, but It would come out sounding concieted. To put it shortly I've always seen my life in such a way to brighten it. That reason for living. I've always thought that if you believed life was really an interesting epic, and something to be proud, that it would actually be interesting.

It's a question of perspective. How you look at things, is really who YOU are. How you live your life is the way life is, and you alter it by just thinking of it a little differently. Believe me it's to your benefit to add a little interest in your life. We, as goths, know this like no one else. We see things a little skewered from the norm, maybe, but we don't see things as boring, unless we can't help it.
