The compilation cd called:

Music from the Succubus Club (A soundtrack to Vampire: The Masquerade)

A good but not great compliation of goth music. First time hearing a number of bands that I have heard alot about but never heard the music before. By far the best track I like is Bella Morte's "Fall No More". I am sold on this band and will buy more music from them. Diary of Dreams, Wench, Cruxshadows, and Kristeen Young had good music tracks as well.

other cds are:

Chris Botti - "A Thousand Kisses Deep"

Enigma - "The Screen Behind The Mirror"

Joy Division - "Permanent" (Compilation)

free cd burn:

The Birthday Massacre - "Nothing and Nowhere"

The lush and the ultra big sound stage of this Goth Syth/Pop band is truly outstanding. This band has it all. The music, the look, the lyrics, the art direction and the killer flash website (one the best I have ever seen). The total package. Well worth the free download.

The last albums i got were:
-Staring at the Sea- The Cure. It sounded too mainstream to me, except Lullaby
-Permission to land- The Darkness.
-Back in Black- AC\Dc

I just got Rammstein's "Mutter", and I must say it is one great album. Feuer Frei and Sonne are definitely my favorites. This is just another great album coming from the never-emptying vaults of greatness that are Rammstein. I can't wait for their new album to come out thsi summer!

Rammstein, although they aren't my regular taste in music, have the most wonderful apocalyptic sound in some of their songs. Engel is my personal favourite

The last album I got.. *cough, cough*

- "kisou" by Dir en Grey

This is actually the second DeG album I got, but found I enjoyed it more than the other ("VULGAR").
"kisou" seems to be more balanced to me with varried
sorts of songs than their last full album "VULGAR" and also perhaps to some extent less "heavy" or "hard".
With heavier songs on it like "Pink Killer" and the total other end of the spectrum with the relaxing piano track that immediately follows it (one of three "shinsou" tracks on the labum that also are instrumental), which even some non-DeG fans might enjoy. Some of the other tracks are also nice to see what else vocalist Kyo is capabale of (besides his growls and screams), like for example the beginning of "Gyakujyou Kanou Keloid Milk" (one of my favourites by them probably) where he sings higher than I was used to for him.
Of course this album also happens to contain the group's probably fairly well known song, "The Domestic Fucker Family".
Anyway, to sum up, I'd say it was well worth getting, for me anyway. I really look forward to hearing future albums from them.

And now for the real reason of this thread. I just wanted to brag about my newest purchase: KMFDM - What Do You Know Deutschland? First pressing from 1986 on vinyl!!!

Quite cool record, but it lacks some of the harsher sounds that are introduced on latter recordings...

Whoa...

...this is very important:

Does it list WaxTrax! or Z-Records as the label on the album?

It is on z-records!!!

Raguna Megido: I hate Dir en Grey! :p Can you convince me otherwise? Point me to some good songs....
Osirius909: I'm going to get that Sucubus Club compilation. I've listened to it a little, and I liked what I heard. Oh, and that Joy Division compilation is brilliant!

And my last purchase: Einsturzende Neubauten - Ende Neu
-Pretty good record. I really like the songs Ende Neu and The Garden. I'm fond of EN's more electronic sound!

RiffRaff, well, if you hate Dir en Grey, I don't know if there's much I could say to otherwise convince you. =P
Also, it depends on what it is you particularly hate
(or like/think is a "good song"). I will toss out a few song suggestions anyway though, and if nothing else will have tried my best. "THE FINAL" is their latest song and is currently one of my top 25 played songs, apparently. Track #16 from their "kisou" album, "shinsou" (not to be confused with the same named tracks #07 and #12) is something to be listened to probably even by those that aren't too crazy about the group, as I said in my previous post. Also "undecided", "-mushi-", "RED...[em]", "Kasumi", and perhaps "MARMALADE CHAINSAW" and "DRAIN AWAY" might be okay for those that don't generally like Kyo doing a whole lot of growling/screaming (I know in some songs, at times, I find it can feel a bit...overdone). The ones I just listed are ones even my mother doesn't seem to mind (despite not exactly being a big fan of the group) and might actually like some of the songs I just listed.

Forgive my lack of brevity and if this would have been better suited to a PM, appologies for that as well.

The title track always blows me away. The chorus and chorus interlude section are amazing.

Then there's "Mein Herz Brennt"- just sweet.

And....yeah......so on and so on.

"Wishmaster"- Nightwish

"Tokyo Warhearts Live"- Children of Bodom

"PEM"- Dimmu Borgir

Finally completing my collections of those artists....

I actually bought PEM once, listened to it two times, then sold it again. Shitty album from a shitty band!

The Cure - "Staring at the Sea: The Singles" (cdr replacement copy)

Many older goth classics on this release. "Forest", "Charlotte Sometimes"
and "Hanging Garden" is The Cure in its older finest moments.

I downloaded the entire album using RealAudio Music Store. The cost was only $9.99 USD. Real Audio (high quality) does not have the edge in sound quality as Apple's I-Tunes does. But RealAudio's Music Store is very easy to use and has a lot of old school goth music.

Mmmm, I'd forgotten how many good recommendations for albums could be found on these boards *looks at her wallet and ponders: tuition or cds? hmmmmm*

As a Mac girl, I'm rather enamored with iTunes, although it's really kind of annoying that you don't get liner notes. But instant gratification is always nice. ;) The last full album I downloaded was Crystal: the Best of New Order, and I'm loving it. I usually don't buy compilations, especially of only one artist, but this one's worth it.

yesterday i bought Remains by Bella Morte. they're not very well known so i was totally thrilled i finally found a cd by them. yay!
i also got Identikit by Burning Airlines. they aren't goth, by the way, but i bought this cd on impulse because of a reccomendation and im glad because it is killer. they are a bit like Bad Religion in their writing style- not that they need a comparison....
merewena- i love that cd! i feel the same way, i have a completely groundless hatred of compilations, but i liked that one and there were good songs on it instead of just popular ones.
