Very non-goth males attracted to gothic females - Have you noticed this?
Author Message
Post
It seems to me that an increasingly large amount of very preppy males are after gothic women. I personally don't know what goth gal would want a muscle bound, tan, bleach blonde haired, jock that listens to pop and rap. But they seem to think they're just that hot, that they can get whoever they want. I've noticed this sort of behaivor in person and online.

What's the deal?

Because Goth chicks look sexy, and look like they'd be into kinky or bi stuff more than likely.

Plus, compared to the Britney clones, most Goth girls look positively exotic.

I've found it's generally the kinky/sexy/bi angle, and mostly because they think that it equates to you being 'loose' and willing to sleep with anyone, and hopefully them (yeah, not even in their dreams)...

lol. I think The Doors said it best with, "People are Strange."

Music is one of the most important parts of my life, some guy starts talking to me while playing rap or other popular pop music I could never picture myself even hardly speaking to them. We're just on different brain waves.

Since you mentioned Ms. Spears I just read an article that a friend in my Live Journal posted:

she can't afford to take 2 years off.. she's already 2 years past her 15 minutes... i heard she's obsessed with jenna jamieson... next stop on the briteny spears express... porn star... junkie... dead at 27

Exhausted Britney 'wants to quit music'

by Richard Simpson
Britney Spears is reported to be on the brink of quitting the music industry for up to two years, suffering exhaustion.

Music industry sources in the US say the 20-year-old pop star wants to go back home to Louisiana. They say she is devastated after being booed by fans during recent visits to London and Mexico and is still getting over her split with N'Sync star Justin Timberlake.

The New York Post quotes a source saying: "Britney's lost it. She was really upset after she was booed and she's saying she is going to pack it in for two years. She's planning on moving back to Louisiana and living with her mother. She's tired of being under pressure to perform and is still broken up about Justin."

However, a spokesman for Spears told the paper that two years was an exaggeration, saying: "She is trying to take six months off."

Spears recently shocked fans by sticking her finger up at Mexican paparazzi and upset others by cutting a concert short. In March she caused outrage when she dashed past crowds at the London premiere of her film Crossroads.

I found it amusing. Goth girls more likely to jump into bed with anyone? I think not ;P

I agree completely with Lilith. I would know. I go to school who's known for the population of jockstraps...i mean, jocks. They always come up to me and say things like,"Kinky" or "Goth girls are sexy" or they'll make random remarks containing some sort of sexual inuendo and expect you to jump on top of them everytime. THose fucking bastards! =:)

I haven't noticed this trend at all, but i'm not surprised because we goths are just so damned sexy those preppy jerks should get down and their hands and knees and beg to even share the ground we walk on!!!

Um ... but seriously, i've only once met a baseball cap wearing prepster say how hot he thought death rock chicks were. I just looked at him and shook my head, though i admit i was tempted to give him a lifestyle makeover. Me and my Pygmalion fantasies ...

Actually, one of my former lovers did the goth makeover to one of her boy toys. He didn't look half bad, but it didn't take.

Perhaps this is an unrelated note, but for every goth couple i've met it seems i've known a roughly equal number of goth women dating non-goth boys. Does your own experience bear this out?

None of the boys/men that I have dated, had relationships with, or casual liasons ;), have been goth. Not one of them. Don't ask me why. One of them apparently used to be Goth but long before I was with him. *shrug* I guess it is because I am attracted to men for their personalities and intellect. I mean aesthetics do come into it sometimes, in particular with casual flings, but I am a women in need of mental stimulation. I just don't limit myself by only looking at gothy boys. ;)

And most of the good ones are already taken usually.

At least in the goth scene your odds are higher that they're actually bi and not just gay :P

As the saying goes "Men are like parking spaces, all the good ones are taken and the only ones left are handicapped." ;)

Well, that leaves the assumption that all taken men aren't handicapped, which I disagree with.

Everyone has their flaws, faults, idiosyncracies and quirks, you just have to find the person with the flaws etc. you can live with.

I've had my own experiences with non goth guys. The only ones that ever seem attracted to me either act like they want to be Eminem or are Megalomaniacs. Then they all dumped me because I was too Gothic. Heheh.
I'm not saying that I limit myself to Goths and only Goths. I go out with a guy based on his personality and his intelligence. Still, I don't feel like going out with a guy who's plastered in labels by Abercrombie & Fitch, and can't keep a steady conversation without telling me how great he is.
As said before, it's like all the good ones are taken.
Also, in my area, there seems to be an abundance of Goth boys being taken over by preppy cheerleaders. *cringe*
(:

I haven't noticed that attraction around this area where I live in.But I don't limit myself to goth boys.I really don't care,as long as we have something in common, and chemistry.I really never cared what subculture a guy is into.

i notice the complete opposite around here! most of the preppy guys really hate anyone who is remotely different or unique. i guess having a mind of your own is un-attractive to guys around here. I've never once had a preppy guy like me, the only thing they do is go "why are you wearing panty-hose on your arm," give me a wierd look, and then call me wierd.
heh.. oh well, maybe thats just this damn town though..

X)
