he he......yes it would be fun to actually meet in person "established" goths.
I'm still in the process of leting the culture envelope and swallow me up :P :P

I'm kinda being carefull to not be something that i'm not...he he...

As for when and where...

Where...N.F.I (no fucking idea)
When...Well how about we say the days that we cant meet..
Mine is monday's, Fridy nights, and sundays. although i can be flexible wif the friday nights and sundays....mondays i work for a mate, his day off on Mondays an tuesdays and i take the monday.
So after all that, moday is the only day that i cant meet...unless i swap my day wif my work colluege that takes the tuesdays...

OK, new thing...i'm free any day lol....

he he...i really have no-life lol....

so what days cant ppl meet?

Mine are mornings Moday-Thursday, then nights Wednesday, Friday and certain Saturdays (I don't know these until 2 days before) Not very helpful am i? As for where...i've heard that Rockingham graveyard isn't too patrolled?!?!?! (seriously i have not much idea but am fairly flexible as to location-just not some souped up dance bar with little teenyboppers bumping into you all the time...urgh!!!!);P

Hehe, I feel really rude, having started this topic ages ago and dropped off the face of the planet...but I've been busy, honest! ;)
Perth so needs a solely goth shop because everything's so expensive and you have to traverse the whole city to get what you want (if you're lucky enough to find it in the first place)...I reckon there's a pretty good market for this sort of thing in Perth and I'm amazed no-one's fully capitalised on it yet...plus with everything in one store prices would probably be a bit lower...but until such a store exists I'm considering learning how to make my own clothes, it's a lot easier and cheaper.
JV's is good for spikes and accessories, that store in Subi markets is OK depending on what you want but the range isn't all that great, especially for guys...the army/navy surplus store on Wellington street is surprisingly good for boots (lots of Doc Martens) and I also like The Leather Shop (think it's on Pier St) for trenchcoats, pants, belts etc. Op-shopping's fun but a bit of a wild-card, you might get lucky, you might not...however, still yet to find a store which sells mesh and fishnet shirts, that's why I want to make my own.
Anyway, that's my ramble...ciao for now :)

were on the interested list for a meetup? i think we're getting close to setting a date, time, etc... i had never heard of The Leather Shop, i'll have to check it out. in regards to a goth shop, i'm game if i have got support and (sighs) $$$ backing. (anyway i was looking for another job!!!!) oh well, until then it's back to baker's delight. do, do, dah, dah, dah,...... (:

I have been saying for a while now that I think Perth could use its own Goth shop- but my husband keeps shooing me back to the corner and muttering something about me having too much time on my hands.
However, the 25th sounds great, has anyone thought where might be a good place? Perhaps in the city?
For mesh/fishnet shirts masamune_forge I would suggest trying View Factory opposite the the Greater Union City Theatre Arcade on Hay Street. They have some neat shirts there sometimes- but the owner can be a tad scary. They also have some really unusual chicks shirts there too.
Tredways in Mt Hawthorn have the best range of Docs/boots in perth as far as I'm concerned, plus they can usually order you in whatever it is you want.

darklight, financial backing would be nice but it's not essential...just skill and imagination in making clothes, then you can advertise in making custom alternative clothes in the goth hot-spots around Perth and work from home with orders...the market's there for alternative clothing in Perth but it's not THAT big, so custom-making's the way to go, you wouldn't end up wasting your time on stock that in all likelihood probably won't get sold. It'd be more of a hobby job but it requires comparitively little finance (just the materials for each project) and once you build up a rep/established small business-thingy your chances for receiving financial backing for a shop should improve.
This is gonna be kinda long...I haven't been able to sleep the last few nights so I've had a lot of time to think and I need to write it all down
Now it's just a matter of learning basic clothes patterns and elaborating on them, and I'm convinced that with a little practice it can't be too hard. I'm starting with a basic black mesh shirt and then a pair of pleather/pvc pants with zips and buckles, small things.
If anyone knows how to make clothes already or has free time and is willing to learn like me, I think this sort of thing would be perfect for a few people to go into, especially to start with...if you're interested let me know. It's viable for me; since finishing school three years ago I've worked part-time fast-food jobs because I didn't know what to do...I don't suit full-time day-work because I need variation and until this idea, nothing's really interested me so I'm gonna give it a go, haven't really got much to lose :)
Um, as for the meeting thing, I'd really like to but I work nights so it's a bit hit-or-miss. When rosters come out leading up to it I'll let you know...

well, mesamune_forge, i'm willing to teach you what i know (i've adapted a few designs to suit myself & completely drafted a couple of items. i guess you're right, i just wasn't looking at things in the right perspective (the chicken before the egg syndrome). I'm trying to think now where to start. (i'm not feeling very creative tonight after doing a 9 hour shift, with a 15min teabreak, after only sleeping 4.5 hours this morning...hell day work does not really agree with me at this time in my life!) it'll be good if you can make it to our own little meetup. By the way does anyone like Nightwish??? I've been asked to get a tally of people who would go to see the concert if they came over to WA. so far i have 4 on my list so we may end up on a flight over east next year?!?!?! If we can get enough numbers however, me may be able to lure them over this way!!! So if anyone can help me, let me know!=:)
