So, here I am in montreal. I know where to go to pick up a swank new outfit, but bars, clubs and other such hangouts? I haven't a clue. Does anybody have any suggestions?

I don't know much about goth nightlife in Montreal except it has barely nothing to do with goth. Few times I went on Montreal, there was those Fetish night, so I never got to go to place like Saphir because I'm not a latex vinyl fetishist ...

Montreal's great things are Cruella and Diabolik store for clothes and accessories
For music, you can still rely on HMV and Archambault, and maybe at places like Freeson, but I never went to this store.
I also found interesting things in used stores on Saint-Denis Street down Mont-Royal. I don't remember the name, but it's on west side of the street, and there's always milk boxes full of 33' and 45' vinyls outside.

In Quebec City, there's a small, really underground place called Temps Partiel, where there are two or three goth evening every year. I went to the last one, it was cool, but don't search for the crowd out there !
For goth music here, it really sucks, I recommend to use mail order in the states
