Mmm...Irish men - the reason I taught myself Gaelic. (Not to mention the Russian men tangent earlier - they're the reason I took Russian in college.)

Sorry, just adding my slavish $.02 to the throng of goth girls with their panties all moist now over you guys.

Well according to all my foriegn friends the people of Dublin speak at such a speed no mortal could ever understand us :P

I also have a thing for Russian accents, I always thought I was the only one, I think I just like.....um....."harsh"(?) accents like Russian & German.

I totally just made this post to break an even 400 posts :P

I've now been to Dominion, though I was only able to stay from 10.30 to around midnight.
My first impressions of the place were good as I walked in to hear straight away Kick in the eye (bauhaus). After paying the 7 euro entry fee and having my hand stamped with (in an annoyinlgy large font) "Goth?" I went in to the rather tiny club.
The place had no more than 10 people (including me and my friend who happened to be an ex-regular, who informed me of how changed the place was) though I was assured the place gets completley packed very quickly, with what few people where there, it had a pretty friendly and relaxed atmosphere, the pink walls rather detracted from any attempts at the dark dingy basement I was expecting :P.
The music was good, the bands I noticed/recognised included Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Cruxshadows, Joy Division, VNV Nation (I think), Ramstein and (oddly enough) AFI, also the people who were there were intimidatingly attractive (both the males and females).
I intend to go back there for a full night in the near future, first though I have to convince my g/f its not Cruxshadows 24/7 (whom she despises after I dragged her to their recent Dublin show :P)

Anyway, just thought some might be interested in my oh so un-goth opinion on Dublins only (as far as I know) weekly goth club :)

Dominion Is on O'connel street, they have a map on that site, its beneath either fraizers or fables (cant quite recall).
Another site to keep an eye on if you're interested is Tower Promotions they arrange most of the gothic/industrial gigs in Ireland (mainly dublin though). They formerly ran a night (Fridays, tower) at the legendary 13th floor (A part of the original Fibber MaGee if my memory serves correctly), and for a time ran Dementia on fridays in the Aquarium (the shadow of fibbers former glory), but now do only band promotion.
Unfortunatley the Sisters of Murphy cancelled, I was looking forward to that one, oh well.

Also you may/may not like Skindive, their an Irish group, they have hints of industrial but arent really industrial/goth. The site is currently down but according to Danielle Harrison (the singer) there should be gigs coming up in November/December. I was at the launch party for their single a while ago and the stuff from the new album sounds very interesting. Also check out Lluther (theres a link currently on skindives site to a little sample) very promising.

I realise People dont like apparently dead threads being ressurected, and perhaps its because at this time im drunk (i appologise for any mistakes ive made) but I would like to think Im not the only person in this country that loves joy division, bauhaus, sisters of mercy, cruxshadows, covenant, I would really like to hear from others
