I've noticed some thing....

(This was probably mentioned in another thread, and I've looked through seven or eight and I can't find what I'm looking for).
I noticed that I had this little yellow thing next to my user name, and then I looked at another persons post, and they had a dark grey thing.
What are they? Why is mine yellow?

When it is yellow, it means that person is currently online. When it is grey, they are offline.
