since there are so many posts concerning school, it might be nice to have a seperate space to discuss it. the board would involve posts on dress codes (corpgoth, with our spin on it ~_^), colleges that are good/bad for people in the gothic community, events that are limited to students, that sort of thing.
...besides, i do not appreciate homework help questions in any of the other boards, ya know?

this would be really really good dammit!
there should definetly be one. There would definetly be so many problems and questions that could be addressed. I know I'd be on it lots.

Hmm,
I wrote a thought here, but the board ate it. The board has mysteriously consumed atleast 10 posts of mine lately I think. This is getting irritating.
Anyway, what I wrote was something like this:
The idea is not bad but why not just create a School Discussion-thread in the General-section of the board? It would be just like the Thoughts & Sharing-thread etc.

I think Shadowcrow's idea is better because I can't see there being enough relevent issues that could fill up a board; a board dedicated to school issues can potentially attract too many kids whining and bitching about how their school won't let them wear spikes or some other such crap and not enough who want to discuss any real issues that concern students.

Perhaps a board dedicated to highschool/college age goths and the associated angst involved?
I don't know.... we generally have only a couple school-related threads around September or so (this latest school thread opening in July is a strange occurance around here) and devoting a whole board to school-related and/or teengoth-related topics would be like a weapons testing ground for whining.
I'd be for opening a section for minors, but under the condition that there is no attention whoring.

The only difficulty I see there (aside from the invitation to whine you already pointed out) is figuring out who can post there when? Is the section just for those under 18? Or can everyone post there, in which case it becomes the older folks trying to educate the younger (and likely we'll have a good deal of unwelcome advice/condescention)?
Honestly, I guess a thread under general discussion wouldn't be a big deal, but I'd really have trouble telling it from the thoughts and sharing thread most of the time.
A whole section, on the other hand, seems like it might create more problems then it solves?

If you look in Gen Disc. you'll see someone else has already started it.

i agree with blood rose... a board only for school would have too little topics... but a board for highschool/collage goths would be nice!

Please don't respond to posts that haven't been posted to in months only to post the equivalent of "me too".
Thanks.

No, it's more that there's very little point in adding a comment to a thread that's been dead for months that doesn't actually add anything of value to the long dead thread. So neither "yes" "no" "me too" is anything of value. Now if you had a fully fleshed out, and not yet presented, point to present that would give the thread a good reason to be resurrected, by all means post it. Otherwise, don't.

That's not what she said.
But if you feel like it, go right ahead. Just don't post any more poinless or passive-aggressive comments, especially not in this thread.
Thanks,
