Re: What does your bedroom look like?
I'm due to move into this bedroom as my current one was decorated when I was thirteen or so. Since I was living away from home for two years there was little need to revamp it, but now that I'm back I am itching to create a space that represents me a bit better. Most of the furniture in here is antique as we used to live in a Victorian house, and my mother bought a lot of antique furniture from a friend who is a dealer. The bed frame is over 200 years old! I'm hoping to get rid of the pastel florals, add some more wall decorations, and just generally goth it up a bit. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c93/harleygrant/th_b6d5acc9.jpg

Re: What does your bedroom look like?
My room has deep red walls, a nasty white trim (I wasn't able to paint it black), and besides the red wall, it is petty boring. I have to share it with a sibling so we have to compromise. I have my katanas on the wall along with some onf my artwork, and then she gets band posters which have over takne my room. All together thoug, I love my room and what little spaces I can decorate with dried flowers and artwork.

Re: What does your bedroom look like?
My current room is nothing special really. I'm not aiming for any type of theme(I used to, but I found it too limiting). I just have stuff in it I like, keep it simple and subtle, and keep it organized/clean.
Well, I will say it's definitely an "alternative" room. At least, when compared to the rooms of other mainstream girls my age.

My bedroom is tastefully decorated with books, papers, and crafts projects.

Re: What does your bedroom look like?
My bedroom is stacked with books and papers. It's floor is lined with dirty clothes, suitcases, and more books and papers. My bed is my haven, with three lovely comforters and three mismatched pillows. It is, of course, ringed with more books and papers. On my walls I have posters that speak to my three loves; Darkness, literature, zombies, and batman. My vanity is covered in makeup I usually use to make other people pretty and my various perfumes.
Truly, I haven't decorated it much, as I'm used to being uprooted and shipped across the country as soon as I buy a bucket of paint. That being said, there are a lot of wind chimes hung around my room. I read somewhere that if a spirit enters your room, if it is strong enough to communicate or do you harm, it would disturb things like loose papers and wind chimes. I don't really believe in ghosts or such things, but if someone more solid does come in my room, they're likely to get a face full of colored, clinking crystal, and slip on the papers all over my floor, which would rouse me from my sleep and give me time to get my wooden battleaxe and bring some much needed pain into the intruders life.
Yes; I have lost myself completely to the paranoia.

Re: What does your bedroom look like?
I am so embarrassed because of how "girly" my room is! At least it's not pink (I detest that color and always have). I have light yellow walls, purple iris border and periwinkle trim with lavender curtains and a green piano lamp; I also have butterflies scattered randomly on the walls. In all it's hideous and the only defense I have is that I was thirteen when I actually got to have my room decorated with anything besides abc's wallpaper. The upside is that I have a big bookshelf, some posters and a few pictures that cover up some of the walls. I also have an antique dresser and desk with a wraught iron chair--even thought it's a terrible goldenrod color.

Re: What does your bedroom look like?
I find it to be unusual these days for people to have well decorated rooms that reflect their current personalities. Rather, a person's room is more of a living biography of who they were, who they are, and who they are trying to be.
In Edgar the Girl's case, I'd say you're trying to be viewed as a person before being viewed as a girl, and as such you are rejecting the feminine aspects of your past in favor of a darker, stronger image that will hopefully lead the world to be believe in your strength's as a person long before they consider your weakness' as a girl.
Or you could just not like periwinkle and butterflies anymore. It happens. /shrug

Re: What does your bedroom look like?
Right now, my bedroom is what I call "goth Victorian". It's poufy and girly, with touches of black and spooky. It sounds strange, but it seems to work.

@ The Archivist: I do still like butterflies, periwinkle and yellow, just not in my room. I've never been a girly-girl so I have no clue why I chose those colors in the first place.

Re: What does your bedroom look like?
I've never been much of a girly-girl myself, but I remember as a kid wanting to have a little mermaid themed room. It makes me wonder if my sense of style has improved, or my imagination has gotten weaker.

Re: What does your bedroom look like?
My bedroom at my parents' house is a bit outdated for my current interests. The wall color is a deep red (still accurate), but most of the posters hanging are of AFI. While I still like them, they certainly aren't my favorite band anymore. I do have some random posters like a David Bowie one, a NIN tour poster from when I saw them in '09, a Labyrinth poster, and a Clockwork Orange poster. My old room would need major overhaul, but seeing as I don't live there anymore, not much point.
My bedroom at my apartment is also not quite a true representation. I cannot paint here, so I'm stuck with two white walls and two light blue walls. On the wall behind my computer I have posters of Siouxsie and Robert Smith when they were much younger, one of a slightly older Robert Smith, and one of my favorite Salvador Dali paintings ("The Persistence of Memory"). I also have some very old pictures of people on my mom's side of the family (they look cool and remind me of my goals and that I have support). Another wall has a David Bowie picture from an event poster at our local goth club a couple months ago, a David J tour flier, and a Peter Murphy poster from his days in Bauhaus. There's also a Nightmare Before Christmas poster. The third wall doesn't have much wall space (mostly has the doors to the closet and bathroom), but there was enough room to hang my two Peter Murphy tour posters. The last wall, behind my bed, doesn't have much on it.

I'm happy with my bedroom even though it's small and my husband and I share it with my 10 month old daughter. We somehow all manage to find space for all of our things. my bedroom: http://s1151.photobucket.com/albums/o62 ... MG0694.jpgour daughters side: http://s1151.photobucket.com/albums/o62 ... The links for your pics seem to be broken, Dolly. Your daughter's bed sounds really cute!
