Sweetness!

I want the Grey cake with the spiderweb and the red roses for my birthday cake. Beautiful.

Thanks for pointing these out.

Hah, we must be on the same wavelength!

Her Loveliness, great idea to use those cakes as birthday cakes, too. Now I've got to pick one out for my next birthday! Wheee!

I just went ahead and closed the one you had open since it looks like we're all chatting in this one.

I saw this on CakeWrecks too - also Art of Darkness has some links up to more gothicky cakes, if you're interested.

I certainly wouldn't call them "wrecks"!
I wonder if any of them make those skulls out of marzipan? I'd be all over one of those! I had a birthday cake many years ago with marzipan frogs on it but this is even better.
And Dia de los Muertos has been a great inspiration...

Oh man I am totally addicted to that blog and when I saw the "spooky" cakes listed on her Sunday sweets spot I got SO excited! I'm planning a Halloween wedding and that post gave me so many ideas. now this entry has some questionable cakes, particularly the 2nd and 4th.

Ewwwwwwwwww to that "bleeding" wedding cake. I think I'll stick to something a tad more traditional should I ever get married again. Maybe we'll just get a cool bride and groom cake topper and leave it at that.

I found another cakewrecks page with a different set of cakes.
The Nightmare before Christmas and the Corpse Bride cakes are actually quite elegant! I don't know how they suspended the blue butterflies in the latter, though.
I agreed with one of the comments below, where someone suggested a Miss Havisham wedding cake with spun-sugar cobwebs and candy rats. Again, I suggest marzipan for the rats.

Cake train wrecks my ass! What I'd do to get mne ahnds on one of those! I particularily liked the purple/pink-ish one with the marsipan cloth hanging down one side and the cute little scull on top (from Nephele's page). I loved the way it shone... kind of spooky how it changed colour. I also loved the little ghost cup cake (adoraable)! Hey wait... I could make one if I wanted too! I can make magic with clay, I bet marzipan is even easier (if anyone knows anything about cake making, please share). Ok, now I have to have a halloween party... and for my birthday: an undead fish cake ! (I love sushi). Ok, maybe that's a dumb idea...

-Purple, who needs insperation and knows little about cake.

Some of those cakes are amazing... I wouldn't want to eat them (I'd have to, but I'd be sad the whole time I was doing it  )
