Another thought struck me. Why not have avatars of F.W. Murnau's cinematic adapatation of Bram Stoker's Dracula?

Wylie wrote: Anyway, my point (and reason for this post) is that while I was selecting an avatar (hehe Grandpa Munster is SO me) I couldnt help hoping that I might find some anime. Perhaps DragonBallZ or something (Im no amime expert, but DBZ is cool)
This also got me thinking of Johhny Bravo and Dexter and other cool cartoon characters ive seen on cable a couple of times when ive visted goth/geek friends who have it.
Yanno, if we try hard enough we could get Lilith spending all of her free time catering to our every whim.
Hmm. the devil smilie (red one) doesnt seem to work.
Wylie, when is my time ever not free time? I mean... really. You should know this by now.
:p
I'll look into the cartoon avatars, for a discussion on DBZ with someone who likes their anime, I point you to trej... just ask him what he thinks of DBZ. Also, Bekar is a huge anime fan, so he might be a source of info.
Obligatory anime recommendation: The Princess Mononoke.
Anyway, I don't think you're at risk of having other people want to be Grandpa Munster *laughs*.
As for the smileys... that evil smiley isn't the only one that's not working. It will be looked at.

More avatars...
Gloomcookie (Lex, Max, Isabella, Damien, Vermillion, the Monster, Sebastian, Lyndi, Chrys), Lenore, Lenore's dead kitty, Nosferatu, Vlad Tepes and Hannibal Lecter.
I'm not sure about adding Dexter, Johnny Bravo and DragonBallZ avatars though.
There are 136 avatars now, I think if people want something else, now would be the time to get their own. I think I've covered a lot of gothy type avatars and some cutesy ones for the perky goths out there and some for the more geeky.

I like your choice in characters, Blood Rose.
It was extremely nice of you, Lilith, to go about getting all these spiffy avatars for us (I came quite close to taking Arwen or Aragorn, who are the LoTR characters which I apparently most resemble), but I think that you have done enough work for us. Besides, it may be best not to stray too far from the gothic theme anyway.
I hopefully have proven that it is possible to put up an avatar of one's own finding here, just so long as one doesn't try to link to Angelfire or Geocities!
Thine for eternity,

Well, there are a few other people here already who link to an avatar not in the standard selection, so I already knew that worked.
Seraphim, you might want to adjust your avatar though because it's looking awfully squished and I can't tell who you're supposed to be. Avatar size is 64x64 pixels maximum and if it's less than that you need to specify that or they get stretched into 64x64, if it's larger than 64x64 they get automatically get squished into 64x64.

i don't have a website and dont't plan on embarasing myself by making one. This is a bit of a prob if i want an avatar other than that on the list. Is there another way of getting your avatar up and if not could that be arranged?

Edward Gorey stuff!!!!!!!
Rurouni Kenshin avatars would also be neat-o, though they wouldn't really be gothic...

I sent 1 of Billy Corgan (Because I worship him)
2 of Brian Molko (because ive had a crush on him for almost 8 years)

Cute idea, but if you read a post of mine slightly further up in this thread you will have noticed that at 136 already existing avatars I'm drawing the line at making more.
I'm willing to make an avatar if someone has a fullsized pic they want to use, but they'll have to host it on their own space. Your isp will usually give you webspace, so that would be a place to host them.

Fair enough. I probably would have stuck with Tenna anyway.
