Oh yeah, last Spring right as I was getting into their music. Why are all the musicians I like either dead or dying? I always spell it 'Luxe' for some reason.

The Birthday Massacre - they just released 3 new songs ( http://www.fearnet.com/news/b19567_birt ... songs.html) from their album Pins and Needles. Thoughts?

If they have an album where she doesn't sing(or only on backup) then I'll definitely have to become a convert. *gasps* You don't like Liz Fraser? She's my absolute fave female vocalist! Oh well, if you guys like The Cramps, you might like some of the recent Psychobilly groups eg. The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster.

I still miss Pete Steele terribly and still haven't been able to listen to any TON songs yet Anyway... getting back on topic... I recommend The March Violets, and I third Inkubus Sukkubus (though being a pagan goth I am slightly biased ). I'm just recently getting into The 69 Eyes, too (just bought their greatest hits album tonight). Also Type O Negative... their music blew me away, amazing stuff. If you like creepy sounding stuff, Nox Arcana, some of their material is spine-tinglingly and hauntingly beautiful, same with Dead Can Dance. Have you found any of the recommendations helpful so far, hun? -- Thu Jul 15, 2010 11:27 pm -- I've had one of their albums sat in my basket at Amazon for weeks now... really must get round to buying it soon

I rarely listen to things that I can't sing to and being a female alto-verging-on-tenor that leaves out a whole lot of female-based music. I feel far more comfortable singing along with Till Lindeman(his slightly higher stuff is easier, but I can push for the lower notes just can't get the lowest), Freddie Mercury, Danzig, Peter Murphy, Nick Cave or Peter Steele.

Welcome to the low voiced club. Male voices are often esier for me to sing to also. I can sing with Voltaire, but not with Ms E. Autum.

it's an odd thing having a reedy "middle low" sort of voice, which often restrains me to the Aaron Stainthorpe/Rozz Williams areas

Might I be able to suggest some Futurepop or Industrial bands to try out?

Quite a lot of good bands already mentioned. How about Depeche Mode anyone?

Re: Suggestions for new bands/albums to try out?
I personally will always recommend these bands:
Theatre of Tragedy Leaves' Eyes E Nomine Within Temptation Zection 8 Lamented Souls Bay Laurel Magicka
Not as heavy as some, great lyrics (although no lyric can ever measure against October Project!) Just great bands really!
