How about Killing Miranda?
http://www.killingmiranda.com/
Here's a music video for their song "Disposable": http://films.thelot.com/films/19443
I co-directed the video. It has a heavy H.P. Lovecraft influence.

If your looking for something with beautifully dark lyrics and a retro-EBM sound, you gotta check out Ladytron. The lead singer sounds like the girl-version of Andrew Eldritch. I think the song International Dateline is genius. You can check out their stuff on myspace. And anyone who's a fan of post-seventies goth music will certainly enjoy them:

Hmmmm.... black metal. Ever check out Nortt from Denmark?? They play a VERY dark and slow black/doom metal hybrid. I seldom listen to metal anymore, but I still like extremely ambient-sounding black metal like Nortt. Also check out anything by Summoning or Burzum.
As for your industrial/EBM tastes: anything by Skinny Puppy, Frontline Assembly(get Tactical Neural Implant and Hard Wired first), Wumpscut(Music for a Slaughtering Tribe and Dried Blood of Gomorrha), and yelworC, Die Form, Oneiroid Psychosis(esp. first 3 albums), Das Ich(mostly Die Propheten or Morgue), Android Lust, Laibach, early Hocico, or early Haujobb.
You might also want to check out some martial industrial like Omnicore or Blood Axis.
You also like darkwave like Blutengel, so Diary of Dreams and Clan of Xymox are highly recommended.

Zach, this thread is for goth/industrial recommendations. Since Viv has already nicely requested that we keep it on topic, I'll ask a little more sternly that you take your requests for metal music to the General Music forum.
Please follow the DasRules&tm; and don't hijack existing threads.

if you're into Rammstein (like me...I'm obsessed), check out Eisbrecher, OOMPH!, Megaherz, and possibly Joachim Witt. (Joachim is NDW rather than NDH...but he is an influence of all the bands listed.)
I am aware that NDH is not officially "industrial" but it is incredibly influenced by industrial, and Eisbrecher especially has some gothic influence in there .
If you're into CoF and NIN, you might like Marilyn Manson. (Well...I suppose he's not a whole lot like CoF...but "The Beautiful People" does resemble their style.)

Mortanis, I hope you have noticed that alot of people who listen to Cradle of Filth probably started out listening to Marilyn Manson. Nonetheless, the other suggestions seem more valuable to the questions asked.

I am also rather new to Goth, so I have a question. Is gothic metal considered a sub-genre of goth? Or just a cross-over?
As for goth bands, I would say I like:
Bauhaus
The Cure
Inkubus Sukkubus
Fields of the Niphilium *I pray I spelled that right*
and a few others that I can't remember the names of at the moment
Gothic metal bands I like are:
Nightwish - Symphonic Metal/Gothic Metal
Lacuna Coil - Gothic Metal
Within Temptation - Gothic Metal
The Awakening - Christian Gothic Metal
Cradle of Filth - Sort of Gothic metalish on newer stuff, older stuff is black metal. Especially on the track "Nymphetamine".
Industrial Bands I like:
Rammstein
Nine Inch Nails

Neither. It's a completely separate genre. Do a search for goth metal on the forums and that should give you more info.

I don't mean to keep this off topic, but I did the search and came up with nothing.
This is what wiki has to say though.
Many people assume that gothic metal's name implies that it is the same as goth rock, but with metal based composition, and so misinterpret a wide range of bands as being gothic metal on that basis. This misconception is furthered by the use of the term 'goth metal', which implies the music has to do with goths. The genre actually got its name from the imagery and themes within the lyrics, and the atmospherics it uses, which are quite different to those of the similarly named goth rock. While both use the term "gothic" in reference to the forboding sense of doom popularized by the Gothic novel, gothic rock developed out of punk rock in the late 1970s and, aside from some heavier bands like Christian Death, has no connection to heavy metal.
But also lists Gothic rock as a stylistic origin for the genre. I would be safe to say that Gothic metal could be called a style of Goth music along side goth rock and Industrial.

But search the FORUMS. Type "Gothic Metal" in the forum search on this site. Wikipedia doesn't see what actual subculture members do. Take it from a goth, not a search site master.

None of those are industrial. At all.
Also, LAST WARNING

How about Combichrist and Velvet Acid Christ?
If you like Wumpscut you may be interested, I'm not saying they sound the same, but they do tend to all be *usually* slow and aggressive so they might fit into your tastes. Oh, and Suicide Commando
