You might also take a look at a band called "In Slaughter Natives". I know only 2 of their albums but Purgate My Stain in particular might be of interest to you.

In Slaughter Natives are what I'd call "all-purpose dark industrial"
A sound for every season......

Old school industrial, martial, neoclassical, dark ambient, noise, electro/dance, metal...... they've got it all.

..... except I can't really remember much medieval folk-sounding stuff from them.
Classical and soundtrackish, yes, and also a bit of tribal, but not really medieval.

Agree with the suggestion of early Mortiis. Some of the more ambient-ish tracks by Lustre are somewhat similar to early Mortiis. The acoustic tracks by Dammerfarben (black metal) might work for you. Similar to Dark Sanctuary is Les Secrets de Morphee. Aion by Dead Can Dance is always a good one to try. And maybe, just maybe, the more acoustic stuff by Current 93 (e.g., Swastikas for Noddy, Earth Covers Earth, Thunder Perfect Mind) might work for some.

Stay away from stuff like Artesia, unless you like ethereal neoclassical stuff......it is very self-consciously pretty.

Cheers.

They're a German Neo-Medieval music group.

Yes! they are plastered all over my steampunk and other playlists. Faun are fairly good as well!
