Post Wuv Songs
Since Singles' Awareness Day is fast approaching (or, for you "happy" people, St. Valentine's Day XP), I'd figure we could make a playlist for the occassion, so that some of us may enjoy it while we're either rocking the casbah all night long or eating a cold can of Spagetti-O's on the kitchen counter. V.V

I want "twu wuv" songs, that aren't particulary sappy or tragic in nature, but in the end, anything goes. I can think of a few that cross genres, such as "Collector" by The Shroud, "Pagan Girl" by Emerald, and "A Gothic Love Song" by Current93.

Well, despite being a christmas staple for the unconventional, "Fairytale in NY" by the Pogues is a brilliant love song for those beautiful, yet tragically flawed relationships we all have.

A great, in the moment, candles lit, mood song has always bee the Cramps cover of "Fever".

Kamelot has a song titled "Love You to Death" to, unless it's a cover of the Type O' Negative song. It's still a forlorn love song :) (maybe I shouldn't use a happy face since the girl in the song was dying :( ).

Funny, I was just going to do a list of love-songs from my library to post on my last.fm account. Here's some I didn't see listed yet in this thread:

"Seeing is Believing" by Catherines Cathedral
"Louise" by Clan of Xymox
"Agonised By Love" by Clan of Xymox
"Love you to death" by London After Midnight
'Love You 'Til Closing Time" by Rhombus
"Unconscious Lovesong" by Sanguis Et Cinis
"This Love" by Daniel Ash
"Love Is Dead & Death Is The Only Love" by Catastrophe Ballet
"Love Ain't Dead... It Was Just Asleep" by Catastrophe Ballet
"Embrace My Love" by The Prophetess
"Bad Love" by 45 Grave
"In Power We Entrust The Love Advocated" by Dead Can Dance; Covered by Chandeen; Covered by Within Temptation; Covered by The Gathering
"Love is..." by Girls Under Glass
"I Fell In Love With A Ghost" by Lydia Lunch & Rowland Howard
"Cry For Love" by Funhouse
"Lookaway My Love" by Advent Sleep
"Love Me To The End" by Deine Lakaien
"Love" by Abney Park
"The Grip Of Love" by Ghost Dance
"Road to Pain" by Lacrimosa
"Seele In Not" by Lacrimosa
"Lichtgestalt" by Lacrimosa
"Nachtschatten" by Lacrimosa
"Kiss Your Heart Out" by Untoten

And you might as well throw "Love Will Tear Us Apart" in there and all the covers that have been done of that one. Gitane DeMone also comes to mind, but most of her songs tend to be more about sex and less about love.

Also;
"Henry Lee" by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
"Where The Wild Roses Grow" by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
"Do You Love Me" by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

Then if you don't mind metal;
"Season of Love" by Bloodflowerz
"Lovesick" by Bloodflowerz
"Betrayal" by Elis
"My Only Love" by Elis
"I Want to Die" by Mortal Love
"Adoration" by Mortal Love [actually all of their songs, with a few exceptions are about love- their albums when played in the correct order is essentially one large love story, thus far anyway, I do not know what their plans are with their upcoming fourth album- the first three in order are "All the Beauty..." "...I have lost..." "...Forever Will Be Gone"].
"All Alone..." by The Sins of Thy Beloved
"Worthy Of You" by The Sins of Thy Beloved

Nice lists everybody! :D

Hm. Does it seem like every band or artist, no matter what genre, seems to have a song titled "Love You to Death" or "Haunted/Haunting"?

And I love The Eden House. I think another song by them that I'd put on the list would be "All My Love" by TDH and "Love is Blind" and "Mirror" by Claire Voyant.

And Catherine's Cathedral has caught my ear.

If I die tomorrow - Motley Crue
Breakin' down - Skid Row
Everything about you - Ugly Kid Joe

"Gagica mea" by Gandul Matzei ( in English : "My girl" by The Cat's Thought )

Translation : Outside there's wind and smoke
My pals are doping on the sidewalk
No matter what happens
You will be my lover
What's the point of running around
I only gather thorns and lightnings
Shit! little miss won't be my gal.

All the sidewalks burned my feet
But the pain, I don't feel it
I'm gonna have you in the end

Please don't hurry and go,
Don't torment my soul
I want to give you my heart
 I swear you won't regret !

What's the point in running
I only get troubles
You are proud, but I am too
I know it's my price

 Cause My "Manly Force" Cannot Be Tamed !!!
Everything could happen
BUT STILL YOU'LL BE MY LOVER !!!  "

 It rhymes better in romanian.

Post Re: Wuv Songs
I'm not really much on 'wuv' songs so:

Type O ~ Love You To Death, Be My Druidess, Haunted, I Know You're Fucking Someone Else

The Cure ~ A Letter To Elise, Pictures Of You, Just Like Heaven

New Order ~ Bizarre Love Triangle

Ministry ~ Stigmata

Danzig ~ Killer Wolf, I'm The One....uh, just the whole Lucifuge album. Wait, what kind of songs is this thread for?

Queen ~ Millionaire Waltz, You & I, Somebody To Love(lol), Seaside Rendezvous, Pain Is So Close To Pleasure, Funny How Love Is, White Queen, Brighton Rock, Nevermore, Dear Friends, Lap of the Gods..Revisited, Love of My Life, You're My Best Friend, You Take My Breath Away, Good Olde-Fashioned Lover Boy, Teo Torriatte(^_^), Get Down Make Love, Fat-Bottomed Girls, Play The Game, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Save Me and also Sail Away Sweet Sister(sail away sweet sister, sail across the sea maybe you'll find somebody to love you half as much as me. My heart is always with you no matter what you do, so sail away sweet sister, I'll always be in love with you)

Is there a bias here???

O_o

I've been listening to a lot of Unheilig lately and would have said "Sage Ja". It's a great song!
However, the music video with Der Graf in bed with two women just kills the romantic mood. Wonder what his wife thought of that vid??

I think the Damned are often overlooked when it comes to lists of bands who were influential on the goth scene. And it's also often forgotten that, back in late '76/early '77, they were the first punk band to get prime time exposure in the UK (on a show called "Supersonic"). And Dave Vanian was using the "vampire" look then.
