looking for music w/ female voals

musicfan7 Minauros Joined: November 2002 Posts: 30 Gender:	I know there've been threads in the past on this topic - however I have done two forum searches and have yet to find a thread (from this year) about bands and/or just music with female lead vocals? Have any new bands or artists come out within the last year or two?

But: Be Your Own Pet, which was discovered by Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth fame, recently released their self-titled debut. The singer is female and is intensely charismatic. Her lyrics are great, the music is loud, all-in-all, fun stuff. Probably going to end up on my year-end top five. I'm going to assume that you know of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but, if not, check them out. Also, this is slightly older, The Arcade Fire has two singers, Win Butler and Regine Chassagne. Regine sings on "Haiti" and "In the Backseat," two excellent songs. Again, sorry if you were looking for something besides indie rock, but, since this is general music and indie rock is what I know, I gave you indie rock.

They're not exactly new, but not many people have heard of them. Plus in the past couple of years, Lacuna Coil has gotten pretty popular. Goth and related: Colt L'Ame Immortelle 45 Grave (you either love or hate Dinah Cancer's vocals though) Switchblade Symphony Rasputina Dead Can Dance (Lisa Gerrard's voice is incredible) Metal: Arch Enemy (only if you like extreme metal though, Angela Gossow actually sounds like a man :p ) Lacuna Coil, as already mentioned Nightwish Other: Dresden Dolls Garbage Good luck! _________________ 'A wolf in sheep's clothing The ultimate disgrace Wrapped up as a gift of god Exploding in your face ...'
