 What do you play?
Not sure if this thread has existed in the past; or how long it even lasted. So please delete this and redirect me if that is the case. Now, moving on. Does anyone here play any instruments? If so, what do you play? And for how long? What model/equipment do you use?
I'm currently interested in getting started on the bass. A friend of mine has expressed interest in starting a post-punk/goth rock project which I have been wanting to do for so long but have been short of interested individuals. What would you recommend I start out with? Price range is probably going to be somewhere along 3-350. I already have a small list of makes I'm looking into.

 Re: What do you play?
Guitar and drums, on and off for the past long while due to various situations changing. Jackson Rhodes V Ibanez 7-string Gibson Flying V.
Roland electronic drum kit with mesh skins for better rebound and more natural action.
Been playing guitar for about 12 years, though I had to give it up for a while after I fractured a bone in my hand in a car accident. Been playing drums on and off as the whim strikes me for about 5 years.

 Re: What do you play?
Guitar, bass, drums, violin, tenor sax and synth.
Guitar is definitely my instrument though. I was part of a cover band (we covered a lot of Blink 182) in high school, and now I just jam with friends at college, so I have plenty of stage experience. Hopefully I start something up with some of the guys I go to school with soon, I miss being in a band, and especially, being on stage. I'm taking guitar and audio recording (and related courses like sequencing, sound reinforcement, etc.) in college right now, so it's pretty much my passion, hobby and hopefully career.
My load out:
Guitars (and basses for fun)
-Schecter Ultracure (Robert Smith signature guitar) -Gibson ES-333 (Tom Delonge signature) -Takamine EF341SC (Acoustic) -Fender strat -Fender P-bass
Also going to throw this in there -ESP RZK-2 (I'm fairly confident that I'm going to own one by the end of October)
Amps -Marshall AVT-150H (150 watt valve state amp) -Line 6 Spider IV (small, 75 watt amp I use it for practicing at other peoples houses) -Rocktron bass amp (30 watt bass amp my parents got me when I first started playing bass)
Pedals Boss DS-1 Distortion Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor

 Re: What do you play?
I'm a drummer, with a completely basic kit. I can't really afford a huge, expensive kit (or even a mid-tier kit for that matter), so I have a Yamaha snare, bass and toms. I also have 2 Planet Z cymbals (don't hate me), of which are a crash and a hi-hat, and a Sabian oriental cymbal. I've completely replaced my skins though so they're of good quality. Now to replace the rest of my kit...
I wish I could buy a drumkit that was a bit more expensive, but for now I'll have to spend a long time tuning my drumkit after every use, because the tuning is always off after about 2 hours of play.

I sing, but am very envious of all of you with the talents to play instruments! I wish I could play guitar and keys, but I seem somewhat cack-handed!

 Re: What do you play?
I play Guitar(usually rhythm. laying out some lush deep chuggy/gallopy stuff ), Drums(but in need of a double kick drum), keys, synths and violin. A pretty strange mix of things but they can all come in very handy. Right now I'm composing my own music. It's a sort of prog/gothic metal stuff with a bit of industrial beats and under rhythms. I'm about to starts a new band with a few friends but most of it is pre-recorded. Our band name has'nt been decided yet but which of these do you think sounds best? The Harlequins Kiss, Two Coins For The Ferryman or Hallowed Be Thy Name...
