Re: NY Votes on Marriage Equality
It is about Equality.
LGBTQI deserve the same rights that others have, simple as that.
If we were to create different standards for those who some would deem as different, then our society today is no better than the societies before us which endorsed slavery.
Equality is most important to me and you'll find it is such with many others as well.

Its all written in there plain and simple how can one person believe part of the bible and deny another? Also, I wasn't criticizing them for what they believe in I was simply stating that its a bit odd to follow a religion that is in terms somewhat against them at the moment.

I'll tell you what's odd! It's a bit odd that the religion still continues to this day holding on to some rather astonishingly bak-wards beliefs. Especially in such a "liberal" and "advanced" society as Americuh. Utter silliness! God is dead. Long live the Goddess.

Yes, and its also a bit odd that people are so fiercely defending religion on a Gothic website.

The Bible is about as plain and simple as trying to find the Higgs Boson particle. I think with the many contradictions throughout it you can forgive people for picking and choosing (and let's not get into the Apocrypha). It's near impossible to follow the Bible word for word without coming to clashes (love thy neighbour, but I'm going to wither thy fig tree just because it's out of season). You can be Gothic and religious too. Or Gothic and atheist. Or Gothic and worshipping the great Manatee God of Mars (I think he left his answerphone off though).

Re: NY Votes on Marriage Equality
I believe in both the God and the Goddess and I feel everyone has a right to their religion, no matter how backwards or idiotic any of us think it is. The same may go with a person's sexual orientation, etc...
You are who you are and you believe what you believe and no one deserves to be criticized, shamed, or treated disrespectfully or unequally because of a lifestyle or belief system that, frankly, doesn't concern anyone but the person following it.
I defend equality and tolerance and that is the reason, among other things, that I am beyond happy that the Marriage EQUALITY Act was passed in New York.

There are religious organizations -- Christian, Jewish, and more -- that do believe in marriage equality. I REPEAT: There were many of these religious organizations in evidence at Sunday's Pride Parade in NYC. Quote: Pick and choose? Its all written in there plain and simple how can one person believe part of the bible and deny another? People do it all the time. There are more than just ten commandments in what you might call "the old testament." And in the new testament, Jesus condemned divorce in no uncertain terms -- yet there are many Christians who divorce. Re: NY Votes on Marriage Equality
Oh okay, I think I understand what you guys are saying now. Also I never said I thought all goths are or should be atheists or against religion. I was just stating that is was quite funny considering the fact that the first gothic band debatably was Christian Death and yeah... It was just a little jest nothing more then that. Also as far as being able to believe what you want and don't want in the bible I was never taught to believe that as a child when I went to church so I'm glad that's not always typically the case.

Re: NY Votes on Marriage Equality
I believe Christian Death was actually a play on Christian Dior's name, rather than anything to do with how it reads literally. Sure, it helps with the 'OMG we're being outrageous' sound, sort of like Alice Cooper.

Oh okay, how did you come to that conclusion? 0.o -- Wed Jun 29, 2011 12:07 pm -- I wasn't really sure because it seems like Rozz seems to talk about religion quite often in his songs so I merely thought it was negative based on the name of the band...
