I'm black(I mentioned that since I know alternative blacks are rare) and 23 years old. I have an Associate's degree in Computer Networking/IT, but that's for a day job(which I still don't have after over a year of frustration). My true passion is art(even though I'm not very good).
I consider myself to be a casual goth, but gothic enough to hopefully be able to stick around here.
I'm not good at talking about myself so I'll just let my personality show in my posts.

Re: Introduction Thread - New? Introduce yourself here! Hellu Everyone!~ My name is Sharmaine and I recently started reading through posts and joining Goth.Net. Recently before i turned 16, I have been very interested in the goth subculture which is beyond amazing from what I recently have been finding knowledge on. I thank Jillian Venters for her Gothic Charm School book and Nancy Kilpatrick for The Goth Bible that has been the starting foot for me into this beautiful culture. It is so nice to be introduced to many people here and I hope I can find friends and have so much fun with you all! I have been so excited that it has slipped my mind for breakfast this morning. I really like this community and I hope I can be apart of it, today, or maybe someday in the near future. I had many goth tendencies when I was younger and I didn't know exactly how to define that. I love classical dark music, some metal, some rock, etc. I may be considered to be a baby bat but being called that won't stop me from seeking my place in this community. After all, I can see there is much fun to be had here.

I have been a fan of vampire culture for a few years now and been fascinated with little I know about goth. There are some things about it that appeal to me, primarily the freedom of self-expression.
I will throw this out there so everyone knows, I am transgender and self identify as a cross dresser/transvestite whatever. You can see why the self expression is big to me.
I look forward to learning here.
