Hi, I am Andrew. I am 21, a student and in the UK.

I am not new to the gothic scene but have only recently began to truly embrace it. I think forums like this will help the inevitable transformation.

This is my blog. It tries to document this journey :P

Take care peoples :)

Hi

My story is similar arl47, but I'm old enough to be an elder goth by now. I had no idea I had this in me until I moved to a city with one too many corporate zombies and the goth in me blazed. Looking back I can see now that the music, literature,Ideals and philosophy matched me well. At least there is no doubt that this is part of me with it simmering for so long, this is undeniably part of my identity. I just need to take it slow this late in the game or else my family are going to send me to the asylum. I think the exciting part will be learning what is going to define me as a goth, I'm so used to being defined I need to learn what it means to be beyond definition, an individual, just me. Man I'm thinking of the dark and occult interests I've had even as a kid that never left, creative writing, why did I never see this before? Sure answers a lot of questions I had about myself, and to think I grew up in a rural community without any goth in sight and yet I was still drawn even then just by my natural interests alone. Well 'nough said.

Hi,
I think it's only polite to introduce myself before I start posting elsewhere, so...

Most people would call me... well, 'old' might be a possibility. I'm 38 but feeling (and looking) much younger. I'm not a Goth since highschool, I'm not even sure I'm a Goth. All I know is it felt like coming home when I discovered my love for gothic fashion style. And yes, I know liking the clothes is not enough for most people to qualify me as a Goth. Fortunately, I don't care too much. Wearing them feels like filling a hole that's been there since I was a teenager.
I'm still looking for my style... I know what's not my style, but I guess that's easy. It's harder to narrow things down no what I do like. All I know is I'm aiming for a more 'mature' style, say Victorian or Steampunk. But combined with some twists and bright colours... I like androgynous outfits and I do have the figure for it (not the face though).
I'm divorced and now living with my Dutch girlfriend (Belgian myself) near Louvain. One daughter (who wants to dye her hair purple), one son.

Anyway, I hope this is sufficient to start with. If not, well... Just ask

Hello everyone. I figured that it would be best to introduce myself so here I am.

I am a person who recently became very interested in the goth subculture. I have always had an interest in it but now it has truly awaken. I have lived a very hard life so far and thus I have lived mostly in the darkness. As such, I love anything with a dark twist to it and I am just naturally drawn to Gothic things. For this reason, I'd love to learn more about the subculture.

As for me, I am a gentleman above all else. I put everyone else before me no matter the case. I am very interested in music and I've been playing the electric guitar for a few years. I'm not that great right now but I am trying... I also draw every once in a blue moon and write some poetry every now and then. I addition, I play video games as well. My favorite game series include Mario, Zelda, Fire Emblem, Castlevania, and Pokemon.

Yeah...So that is me. I've lived my life in the darkness and recent events in my life have...well...pushed me further into it. I am glad to be here and I hope everyone will accept me. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!

Welcome, new people, and enjoy your visits to our little corner of the 'net.

Golomen Du, I've had almost exactly the same experience as you, without the city part. Since then, I've reveled in discovering goth, as I hope you will too.

Greetings to all of our newcomers! Welcome to the friendliest, least snob-filled Goth site I've ever found.

I'm going to be following you. We have a common interest it seems - delving into the gothic subculture as a *male* in terms of what options are available fashion-wise.

Now, I'm only 3 years older than you (or nearly anyways) and my scene experience is near nothing, but this is the scene where men can don makeup and heels and no one will judge you for it, except if you're wearing corpsepaint and the shoes are cheap. Then you just look like a dead, cheap whore :P

Hello everybody!
I'm 18, living in Portugal and goth probably since i remeber. I don't look like one because it's a little hard to look goth in a small and isolated city like the one i'm living. But I'm trying. I'm liberal and I love books and music.
