 Re: Things/objects that comfort you
My chair...a dream that came true some weeks ago. I've always wanted one and now I got the honor to inherited this lovely one from my loves grandmother that got it from her grandmothers sister. Just to look at it gives me so much joy and relaxing feelings, and I totally lose the sense of time when I sit in it and read.

Finding the perfect song to suit the situation I'm in always comforts me. Weed, good friends, good whiskey. These things are also great to me when I'm in a rough patch.

I can't say any objects relieve my stress. When I'm stressed out, I go excercise and I organize my things and clean my room.

My iPod is my number one. I'm also comforted by my HIM hoodie, my Stitch, Disney movies, and my pony.

I think the thing that comforts me the most is my teddy bear Mr. Bear. Yeah I know his name isn't inventive but that's his name. He's all polar bearish and cuddly soft. Great for when I'm feeling down and even when I'm happy.

I have a teddy bear. His name is Holger, and he's almost as big as I am. I hug him when I'm having a bad day, and somehow that helps.

 Re: Things/objects that comfort you
Teddys are great, aren't they Alice? I have two, one that I got for birth, still have it and one that my boyfriend bought me, so that I had one cos I had to have my old one repaired. I might agewise be an adult ,but I still sleep with them in my arm at night. It comforts me, since my boyfriend lives so far away.

Oh yes, they're the best. I had a lot when I was a little girl. I wonder if they're still there somewhere in the house ...

Same here, been a different bear over the years yet the bear has always been near especially when I'm not well. My one son is a lot like me and has a favorite toy etc. (he's in high school). What a sensitive bunch.

 Re: Things/objects that comfort you
I love stuffed animals in general, but there is something so classic and cuddly about a teddy bear. I own one; his arm is missing (a fight with my sister), and he's ratty (from years of sleeping with him), but I love him to death. And his name is Tobias.

Music. It is what I use to manipulate my emotions when I need to. Stressed, worried, upset? Throw some music on to relax to. Need to think? Put something on that gets the creative juices flowing. I even have used it a few times to help me sleep when I was too restless to.

For me, it's always been either the Jekyll and Hyde musical recordings or The Omen. I don't know why, but I find myself drawn to ideas of good and evil, and I find comfort in stories where the supernatural happens through the eyes of an everyman.

 Re: Things/objects that comfort you
When I'm down I just thrown on my boots and cloak, fill a bag full of nice things to eat and drink and go and spend a night out in the woods. I have a regular spot with shelter and a safe fire pit where I can just sit with the owls and the weasels until I feel better.
Either that or play the drink along with Withnail & I game...
