 Re: Confessions.
I confess to feeling very superstitious after what I wrote in the ghost hunting thread...
My friend, only just today, told me how amused he was by how much of a witch I am. I was amused at his amusement- now I am starting to see his point, as I'm giving advice based on my spiritual views. When did I start doing that, I wonder?

Modern country or the older stuff? Eh, no pics. It was basically a goth-ish outfit with boots and a hat. And I like most country - old and new. If I can sing along, I like it. I'm really not that picky. Johnny Cash? Midieval Fantasy wrote: I confess to feeling very superstitious after what I wrote in the ghost hunting thread... When you started feeling truly comfortable with your spirituality would be my guess. When I converted to Pentecostalism (I refer to the beliefs I held twelve years ago by that name; I'm still discovering what faith is about, so I put no label on what I believe anymore), I thought I had found the truth, so I shared it with anyone willing to listen, anyone who seemed even remotely curious. Once trouble came, however, I found my faith to be a fragile thing. Eventually, when I realized how uncertain and uncomfortable I was with what I thought was my "faith" at the time, I stopped sharing it. Why share what you're not certain about? I've noticed people begin speaking boldly about their faith - giving advice, sharing their own experiences, passing on what they've learned - once they themselves are truly at peace - or would "at oneness" be a better phrase, cliché as it may sound? - with what they believe, when your faith has become so much a part of you that you cannot imagine yourself any way.

 Re: Confessions.
I confess I'm totally over both Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. Tim hasn't been involved in a film I liked in 8 years, and I think he's developed a formula to turn anything Burtonesque with minimum effort (the first part of the formula seems to be : "Just add Johnny Depp"). Likewise, Depp has been in only a couple of films I've liked in the last 10 years (none of them directed by Burton). So...yeah...I'm just going to run and hide until the wave of scorn has passed *runs*

Adrastea Rose wrote: Well I loved the newer Alice and Wonderland movie Aye, but that was the last really good thing he's done in a while. I'm with Black Milk on this one. Sweeny Todd was alright, but it seemed a tad formulaic, compared to Burton's older stuff. Same for The Corpse Bride. Big Fish I thoroughly enjoyed. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was alright (though I found Depp's performance was a tad off-putting at times, and I eventually grew weary of seeing Deep Roy on camera so often). Still liked the original Gene Wilder version more (even though Burton's version was more true to the novel). I compare his newer stuff to his older works, and his older works shine so brilliantly. Sleepy Hollow? Orgasmically good. The Nightmare Before Christmas? A favorite since childhood! Edward Scizzorhands? Sublime. Batman and Batman Returns? That vision of Gotham City is Gotham City to me and always will be; he added so much to the Bat-mythos through those films alone. Beetlejuice? Always a treat! You'll notice I did not mention his remake of Planet of the Apes on this list. There's a reason for that.

Can someone tell me the real reason people like Nolan's version of Batman better than Burton's? No? That's what I thought.

That voice kills both me and the suspension of disbelief.

 Re: Confessions.
This has been something I've felt guilty about for a long time, and I've felt the need to confess it so here goes nothing.
I am an open person, a tolerant one. I accept others for who they are and I don't try to judge other Subcultures, but the truth is, I absolutely fucking hate these Wannabe Gangsters that are polluting American and British culture.

I'm feeling slightly guilty for messing up my mothers facebook (she borrowed my laptop, and left the password on it). I may have taken it a bit too far... Oh well, it was still funny ...I may infact be evil...

 Re: Confessions.
Burton's Batman is dark, but not in a realistic way. I like the edgy realism of Nolan's batman a bit better. Especially in the Dark Knight. The acting wasn't as... cartoony as in Burton's. It was somehow a bit more believable except in some parts of it. I think Nolan's version of Batman was probably the best part. He was more pure chaos than typical evil villain. BUT, Burton's Batman had moments like the Batplane flying into the sky and staying on the moon for a second. I love that. I hated the dialogue and campiness of it when comparing it to Nolan's version which also had the martial arts element but does it HAVE TO BE DOMINATED BY WHITE FOLKS? Dang, Asians invented that! But, a child playing with shadow puppets is better than Schumacher's horrible version with Batnipples and Batpenisbulges and a BAT CREDIT CARD! AUGH!
But, yeah. I'm sorry. I like Nolan's version better. It's more my cup of tea for some reason. I also bought a keyboard on an installment plan even though I can get it cheaper because I just really want it.
I don't like gangstas either. And I am black. And could they please pull up their pants? No one on earth wants to see their underwear.

 Re: Confessions.
That's OK. I like the books. None of that new fangled movie 3 d nonsense for me. Just old fashioned books you can read on the toilet. Everytime they make a movie out of a book I like the scoop out the pulp of the orange, add artificial orange flavouring, HFCS and water. Do not like.
