 Re: Thoughts and Sharing Thread
Congratulations Spidey! If I was getting married I would definitely opt for an Elvis wedding too!

Never been to Vegas and this will most likely be our only trip there since we don't gamble and have never had occasion to go there prior to this. My favorite thing to do in Vegas is go to Penn & Teller's show at the Rio. At the Rio they also have a special Mardi Gras hour every night, when these honkin' huge floats suspended from the ceiling come through the shopping area, and they toss necklaces out to everyone. Just about all the resorts have some kind of free attraction going on that you can visit. At the MGM resort they have live lions in the lobby area, and there's also Siegfried and Roy's zoo with the white lions and white tigers (and other animals, including dolphin shows). You don't even need a car, the shuttles take you everywhere that you can't walk on your own. Oh, and there's great hiking at Red Rock Canyon! That was another one of my favorite things there. You can see prehistoric hand paintings on the rocks there, too. Heh, I've been to Las Vegas a lot of times, and I never gambled. Too much other stuff to do! Have fun, Spidey! -- Nephele

But when you chat with him after the show, he talks a LOT! Oh wait. I just remembered one time when Teller speaks on stage. It's the trick with the bunny in the woodchipper. But the woodchipper is so loud that you can't really hear what Teller is saying. He does that deliberately. lol -- Nephele

I mean, I went to the Virgin Islands, re-dyed my hair, and changed my major, but who cares about that junk? XP I've been hearing of people getting ditched - and then hitched! Hoorrayno!

My keyboard needs a "boot to the crotch" button; I could've saved at least one day if I had a keyboard like that. Of course, I'd sell a kidney for an iPhone if they have an app that can do that.

What are you majoring in? I'm interested in that. I'm switching from environmental studies to anthropology. Don't get me wrong: I love environmental studies, but I just suck too much at math to proceed (and math and chemistry are really the only things that are holding me back; that and I need an internship and take a junk load of seminars). At this point, I just want to be done with school. I've tried to prolong my stay at school so I could have time to complete pre-calc without failing by adding a minor to my agenda - anthropology - and it turns out that I almost have a degree in that field from the amount of credit hours that I've accumulated from the anthro. distribution requirements for environmental studies. So in the end, when I'm done with school, I'll have a B.A. in anthro. with a minor in evironmental studies as well as biology. :P (Grad school is nearly out the question about now too. I'm just so tired of college. :|)

I swear, they make high school math harder than it has to be weed out all but the Chosen Few who can plot loopy graphs and deal in whatever it is that calculus deals in. I was tired of college too - now I yearn for a return. I need to upgrade myself, but grad and law school are expensive gambles. I'm actually tempted to, assuming I can participate in the program + later the job to just go with bartending. I feel like the best jobs are the ones people always need. I can't do construction and other trades due to my physical issues. I'm hoping that I can sling drinks and deal with some aspects of bartending that I'd find personally troublesome - like doing a lot of lifting/carrying that's greater than around 25 pounds multiple times during a shift.

Carp: Cool. As long as you're doing something that you're not only good at but enjoying.
Carp AND Orlok: It's funny you two bring up calculus. I'm taking the course this semester myself, and I came to the boards for the sole purpose to tell about my C I got on my first exam.
I'll take a low C on a calculus test. As hard as the course is, a C is not too bad.
