The new MH dolls are 'Spectra Vondergeist' and 'Abbie Bominable'. Well, I'm dissapointed mildly.

 Re: Monster High Dolls!
I have become very enamoured with Draculaura, and the whole concept. I mean I had heard of them a while back, and I just thought it was a stupid offshoot of Bratz (and frankly, I can't stand them, they have a tendency to be dressed like little hookers), but I couldn't help but be sort of amused and endeared to Monster High as time went on. About a month ago, a friend of mine and I were playing around in the toy aisle (yay!) in a Tesco store, and we found Draculaura- which may soon become my nickname if I'm not careful XD- and my friend joked she'd get me her for Christmas. As timed as passed, I'm thinking I'd be terribly disappointed if she didn't not that I actually expect her to spend £15 on me. So now I'm seriously considering getting her myself, but I've also come to like the Spectra Vondergeist and Frankie dolls. I really hope that Operetta becomes a doll, she's just awesome! I love the style they've used for her. I spent much of today watching the Monster High cartoons, and I actually think it could become a very good thing if it isn't already. I love how they are teamed up with the be Kind programme that goes into schools and works to prevent bullying. I was worried this would be a very "cliquey" sort of doll, just like Barbie was when I was a kid...but instead, the characters promote very good qualities. In addition to being kind, it basically says its ok to be different, everyone has a talent, being a jock doesn't mean you have to be an unkind, unintelligent jackass, being stylish and popular doesn't mean you have to be a bitch, and being a geek doesn't mean no one will like you. I am really starting to love Ghoulia for that reason (she's so cute in animated form, the glasses look cuter in the cartoon); she's a smart, bookish, geeky girl who LOVES comic books, and no one treats her like a lesser person for it. As a geek myself, I love that (and I also think as Nephele pointed out, the inclusion of zombies in the series seems to say that being "slow" or handicapped in someway doesn't make you a lesser person). Its even tackle racism (Lagoona Blue and Gill). Lets just say, I enjoy it, I want me some dollies, and I'm really glad there are some great, positive messages out there for the kids

I've never watched the cartoons, but after that description, Blackie, I think I will now.

 Re: Monster High Dolls!
While ultimately cute overall... that whole "Monster High" thingy LOST ME at the concept of a *male* gorgon. At least make him uglier than sin!

 Re: Monster High Dolls!
I've seen the commercials for the show and dolls, and they got me curious. If the cartoons are as good as you say, I'll check them out (I already watch MLP). I want the Draculaura Doll without even watching the show... They're like Living Dead Dolls I can afford.

I'm resurrecting this topic because I have some related news for Blackavar here, and didn't think it merited a new topic started. Blackavar wrote: I really hope that Operetta becomes a doll, she's just awesome! I love the style they've used for her. Blackie, you got your wish. I've seen the latest Operetta dolls in the stores. I must have missed her when she was first released, because now they have a new roller skate Operetta version. I'm going to have to see if I can buy the original Operetta online. -- Nephele

They're so cute! I love the idea of them being more gothy than your regulat barbie or bratz! Though Bratz have got a new gothy version out recently called Bratzilla's not as cool as monster high but still quite unique and cute!!

 Re: Monster High Dolls!
I was quite excited when I saw some of the pictures for these dolls... then I went to Amazon and saw the prices!! The Draculaura doll is over £30! That prices me out of getting any of them, ever Oh well... I can look at the pretty pictures and wish

 Re: Monster High Dolls!
i got a frankie doll for 15 dollars, minty. You just have to find a version that is not the original, and then you can give them the original clothes later.
I think they changed Lagoona's design to something more feminine and less athletic. Kind of disappointing, but at least i got an original design.

 Re: Monster High Dolls!
Toralei Stripe (werecat) is the most expensive one so far, I think, and she's actually one of the newer dolls. My man tells me that if I'm very, very good, I might be getting Toralei for a winter holiday pressie. lol I think the anime fans might be responsible for the price of Toralei bumping up so high, because she's got cat ears. There's another cat creature in the Monster High line that's due to come out very soon, and I think that one's going to be crazy popular, too: Catrine DeMew. I hear she debuted at the San Diego Comic-Con this year. -- Nephele

 Re: Monster High Dolls!
I'm looking forward to skeleton doll which will come out next year. She's kept in theme of Día de los Muertos and I must have her. She would look so lovely on my shelf... Other than that I'm thinking of getting myself Operetta (music-themed one) or Spectra (ghost). Also - Dolls from very first lines are most expensive ones. Normally the cheapest ones are those coming from second/third newest line, so they're not "oh so new", but they are still available in stores. Never too old to like dollies, never
