Re: What are you doing right now?
Just got out of yet another job interview... Going to all of these is making me depressed. They always give me the wrong numbers to call them back at or they say they'll call me the next day and they never do. *sigh*
Right now, I'm browsing EdenFantasys.com looking for more products to review. They have a pretty active forum. It may be a sex toy store, but it's really friendly and has a great point program and many different ways to get gift cards and things for free. I'm having a lot of fun over there lately.

Listening to a contest of classic albums on the local classic rock station. Right now Who's Next and Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers are neck-and-neck. This contest has been giving me fits.

Enjoying the night as it passes midnight, like always.

I hope you get employed soon, Hopeless. I need a job myself, and have even started to apply to places on the mainland for more potential returns. As for the sex toys, glad you're getting some free "swag" as the kids say now. If like say, VampFangs or any other website that sells stuff that I'd be interested in sampling, I'd gladly write a review or two.

I hope things get better for you.

Didn't get a call back yet. I wasn't getting my hopes up. Getting a job seems as likely as me getting a new computer. :/

I hope I get one too. Then, we could be both employed!

Re: What are you doing right now?
The situation you guys are in makes me furious. Just how long are we going to have to deal with such a useless means of employment? It seems so archaic and cruel, like an artifact from an ancient male dominated society wherein applicants compete to the death and the survivor gets to earn to feed and provide for themself and family. Like what the hell? Introverts especially those particularly humble and shy are handicapped out of the gate and are they truly inferior? Dammit cannot someone find a way to distribute employment equitably and fairly to both applicant and employer without the competitive and unfair need to grandstand oneself above everyone else when someone is not made that way to begin with? Sorry about the rant, you're not the only ones guys. I have my best friend squatting in a barely habitable home with his common law wife trying to get work, barely able to afford basic necessities.

I almost feel the need to bleach my hair in order to get a job around here. I've been told at several interviews that i'm "not what they're looking for" and they'll start listing off my physical faults. I know i'm not pretty or anything, but looks shouldn't be what matters in a management position, should it? You would think they want somebody with a nice resume and the skills to do the job correctly, right?

Sorry about the rant, you're not the only ones guys. I have my best friend squatting in a barely habitable home with his common law wife trying to get work, barely able to afford basic necessities. I once watched a documentary where they explored a "world without work." Basically, robots manufacture many, if not all of the things we need, and we as a global nation work on maintaining sustainable growth in terms of crops and such. Everyone takes an hour or so out of their day to watch over the various generators and other systems that are designed to keep EVERYBODY alive and well. I believe they advocated the use of solar power as well. Basically, robots build our houses, grow the crops, etc all under the supervision of the collective whole local population. Since no one would "work" anymore, there'd be greater tolerance in theory because there'd be less pressure to "keep up appearances" and what not. Everyone either rents a vehicle or they take trains, buses, etc to wherever they need to go. We need to stop allowing corporations and brand marketing determine ourselves and who we are to be. We *strongly* need to recall what ties us together, over what sets us apart. I might not be very physically capable because of my mitochondrial myopathy but I know I have at least the mindset required to survive. Quiet, introverted types sometimes make the best hunters because we're more likely not to "scare the fish." Tie that silence with swiftness of bow and you have a great hunter IMHO. -- Fri Mar 30, 2012 9:13 pm -- HopelessRomantic wrote: orlok wrote: In all seriousness, I hope you get a job. You would think they want somebody with a nice resume and the skills to do the job correctly, right? If I ran a business, I'd be looking for skills, drive, and a *decent* resume. Depending on the business, I'd be more than down to allowing people to dress how they want. In my opinion, a comfortable worker is a happy worker and happiness leads to productivity .... and the awesome continues.
