Nah, it's not just Woody Allen.

Personally I've always thought the Modified Dundee works to determine these things. If you flick your hand (as if to "sack" a person) in the general direction of someone's crotch a person who was treated as a male by most of the people they met in their formative years will normally twitch away or twist their hips slightly. A person treated as a female won't really understand what just happened and might look for a fly.

Someone showed me this great video of a Texas pastor speaking out in favor of gay rights. I'd heard about this on MSNBC, but I looked it up for myself because the media tends to edit things to sound like one thing or another.

Here Click around, you don't have to watch the whole thing to get the message. He makes very good points, though, and I wish my extremely "religious" and judgmental friends could see this.

I was also surprised because he's black, and most black preachers (that I know) are very much against gay marriage and rights, at least publicly. Black people in general (aside from myself obviously) tend to be uncomfortable with it.

I was also surprised because he's come to my church before, and it was weird seeing him on tv for some reason.

Post Re: LGBTQI Issues and Related
I just wanted to say that some people piss me off.

I had a disagreement on my facebook about Marriage Equality and just being 'gay'. I posted this picture on my facebook. Now that's not unusual for me, I'm always posting things like this. Well a cousin posts "That's sick" on the picture.

I told her that I was bisexual and I found it to be beautiful- it's a testament to love, after all. I then quite sternly told her such hate and bigotry was not an endearing quality in anyone.

So she later deleted her comment and then posted saying her daughter posted that comment and kids will speak as they find, and proceeded to laugh about it and find it funny- then she deleted me.

Her daughter was not born hateful. Her daughter didn't wake up one day and say " same sex couples kissing is disgusting". No. She learned it. Even if her daughter posted that comment- she learned such vile thinking from somewhere- and it's obvious where. Bigotry comes in all forms and it's sad that it's now taken over her nine year old daughter. I pity them.

(By the way, the shirt one of the men is wearing says "they gave me a metal for killing two men, and a discharge for loving one." Story Here.)

Well, she should've raised her daughter better. The fact that she finds it funny when her kid posts shite on your Facebook (in the mom's name, no less) shows that she's a dummy mom. And if your cousin posted that herself and said her daughter did it, then she's a dishonest dummy mom.

Midi, thanks for posting that link to the story of Sgt. Leonard Matlovich!

He's hard to listen to, something about the cadence. Dude is right, President done stood up for the little guy.

Also why is there an Ankh on that podium?

Furthermore: the shots of people getting angry at him are awesome.

as long as there's more than one opinion, there are those people who are intolerant and immature.
And since it's easy to insult people based on their sexuality...even the most stupid person manages to make a silly comment. Don't they see it's so immature?

Nephele: I agree! No one is born homophobic- it's learned. It so happens her dad is the one who-when he found out I was bisexual, called and told my entire family, trying to get them to disown me. Go figure!

Arq: There were old people in that picture! And I thought their love made them look so young! (can I second what Nephele said?)

Cutty: Agreed! It is very immature to show such hate. anyone can be small mind and bigoted. It takes an open heart to show tolerance and raise above the the pettiness.

Just been introduced to something that made for pretty grim reading, a live counter of homophobic language used on twitter :
Be warned, it also shows the "tweets" in question.

WOW...that is about all I can say. I wonder if they'd do something like that for facebook. Those terms are disgraceful.
