I long to reminisce,

I feel it's chilling breath.
It echoes through the walls
Of empty sacred halls

A voice laced in poison,
Vehement in every curse
With honey as it's guise
As the venom cuts to size
And the pain of your words
Grows only worse.

I recall every scene
As your back walked away.
With the greatest restraint
I withheld all complaint
And the tears that came
Later that day.

Now alone, all I hear
Is the faintest of beats,
And the rain as it falls,
Echoed on barren walls
As I curl up,
Cold under these sheets.

That smile and those eyes
Every morning I'd see
Will soon be memory's ghost,
But what I'll miss the most,
Is that empty place...
