what do you think of my website layouts?
This one is my personal website... http://sarahstrange.obxhost.net/index.htmlAnd this one is my neopets "Webbie"(if you make a guild on neopets you can make another site to supplement it and for more room). http://deacayinginnocence.obxhost.net/index.htmlI think I actually like the second one better.

Re: what do you think of my website layouts?
The font on your personal site, though pretty, is insanely difficult to read that small, especially in that color. There's just not enough contrast to make it legible. I would suggest using the script font for larger "headline" text, and making the regular site's verbiage something plain jane and easy to read.
Truthfully, I can't say that I'm crazy about the colors on either site. The bright blue links on your personal page are generic bright ass MSN link blue, which doesn't really match the subtler purple, and the purple and gold on the Neopets page aren't doing it for me against that black background. They would probably look better against another color.
However, the layout on both pages is pretty good, and I do like the "distressed" font and borders on the second site.

well, on the first one (if your looking at the black and purple, if not i already changed it) i fixed the link colors. i did something wrong on the style sheet, and for the second...thats probally a good idea.

Purple on black is too hard to read. I would recommend a light grey text for your content.

well, i could simply do something like this for the second page http://deacayinginnocence.obxhost.net/webbie2.GIFhttp://deacayinginnocence.obxhost.net/webbie3.GIFbut they dont look quite right. and on the other one, i just made the font a brighter purple. http://sarahstrange.obxhost.net/index.html

Re: what do you think of my website layouts?
The lighter purple is better. Got a 403 forbidden on the first two links.
Also, there's something happening with the absolute placement on the new index example. I have a widescreen monitor, so I had to make my browser window more square for the text to stay within the border ornaments. Not sure how to remedy that one, since absolute placement seems to be a tetchy bitch of a thing. When it works, it's awesome. When it doesn't, it make me want to stab things.

I like the simplicity of the personal site, although I tend to want to just see pictures instead of clicking on them. Also, you might move the Main page text down, so it doesn't overlap the top purple swirl. I also like the Neopets layout but would change the color scheme- maybe more pastel, like the ones on the Neopets page to which it's link.

i positioned the image, so it should be where its supposed to be. i just had it centered before, and didnt really think about widescreen monitors and the like. thanks for all your help guys.
