 Name This Place!
Minnie's Game: Give 'Em A Big Hand was my inspiration for this game of which I am calling : Name This Place! How It Works:1. I will post a picture of some place on Earth. You must guess what this place is called and where it is. 2. NO multi choice. Sorry, but it makes it to easy to use the search button on Yahoo, Google, etc... 3. When someone guesses, do not use any search engines to see if they are right and copy the answer. It really defeats the perpose of the game! 4. When discussing a certain picture, do not give specifics as to the name or location if you do know it until after the answer is revealed. You can say you have been there, etc... but no facts (-I.E : It was built in 1695 under the ruler So and So..) UNTIL THE ANSWER IS GIVEN. 5. I will reveal the answer every two days, along with a posting of another picture for as long as people continue to guess. If we are in a deep discussion about the current picture, then I will withold the posting of another until the conversation on the one being discussed has died down. 6. If you PM me with a place you would like to see posted, DO NOT guess on it, or if you do guess on it, guess wrongly...if for no other reason than to see how many people you can confuse or agree with you! Hopfully this works out and will give a chance to discuss different places. Also, there are no points or anything. I could never keep up with it. With that being said: Name This Place!*Thank you Minnie for catching my Problem. I believe it is now fixed...*

 Re: Name This Place!
I had to edit it since the name of the place was in the link.
It is fixed now.
May the guessing begin!

 Re: Name This Place!
Looks German/Austrian. No idea apart from that.

 Re: Name This Place!
Hmm.
Well if LS cannot guess it, then I suppose I will mend my rules and give out one hint per picture (and I have also changed the rules in the inital posting to reflect this).
Here is the Hint for this picture:
Though this man is not known as a king His books we read and his praises we sing When the name of this castle is revealed Your ‘ungoth’ moment will not be concealed!
*has a feeling that I have now made this game to easy...*

 Re: Name This Place!
Oh! Dracula's castle!
What a fun game idea, Midi! We've had a game like this going over on my Roman history discussion forum, only the pictures were all of ancient sites.

 Re: Name This Place!
As Nephele guessed, it was Bran Castle, better known as Dracula's Castle! If hardly anyone guesses on the next one, I suppose I will call the game quits, but I figure to give it another try. So: Name This Place!Hint: This was built of limestone, not of sand She was the ONLY queen to rule over the land This was built for her when she passed away To honor her, allowing us to admire it today. So let's keep the game alive people, and give me your guesses!

 Re: Name This Place!
I have short term memory loss, so it might be...but it might not be...I'll never tell until some time on Tuesday!
I will say though that Petra is beautiful and I would LOVE to visit their one day if ever I could.

 Re: Name This Place!
And I had a grand total of one guess...oh well. The name of the place in the picture is : The Temple of Deir El-Bahri. Also know as The Funerary of Queen Hatshepsut. Since this did not take off as I had hoped it would, I will not be posting any more pictures, unless asked by popular demand. Thanks for playing everyone!

 Re: Name This Place!
Oh, I missed that last one! I would've taken a guess.
How about this? The last person to guess correctly, gets to post the next picture? This way you can play too, Midi.
