I'm trying to rip vinyl on to my laptop, but I can't figure out how to get Audacity to accept input from the turntable (which audacity came with), and I can't see my turntable on my laptop to begin with (solving the latter will probably fix the former). How are you connecting the turntable to your laptop? Via the soundcard? Or as a USB device?

 Re: Looking for Tech Support
It's a USB device, I've tested all the ports with other things, so I know they're not the problem.

Okay. Assuming you're running Windows, it's not giving you a Device Manager message?

No, no message, nothing shows up in "Safely remove hardware" or in explorer under "Computer"
Oh, and yes, I'm running Windows

 Re: Looking for Tech Support
Okay. Have you tried checking Device Manager (right-click on "My Computer"; "Properties"; "Hardware" tab)? That'll give you a fair indication whether your laptop is recognising it or not. If not, you may want to try plugging it into a desktop; it may be that it isn't designed to work with laptop architecture.

 Re: Looking for Tech Support
I'm trying to plug my laptop into an old CRT Television to watch movies on my hard drive. This has led me to search for something that adapts the Standard monitor plug (RGB) to an AV output. I've been Googling this for a while, and haven't been finding anything useful. All I ever find are those damn component cables.

 URL Not Valid
Suppose Stacie here (Me) has some REALLY cool Rammstein pics on her computer, plus a few on various websites. So I tried the links to the sites and the (I think) thingie (uh, URL) of the pic on my computer. So how is it "URL Not Valid"? How do I find the valid URL?

Start with: Reboot in safemode and run a full scan, if that doesn't get rid of it, review the following link http://www.symantec.com/security_respon ... 99&tabid=3Post details on success or failure...

 Re: Looking for Tech Support
If you applied a system restore you will need to reinstall any software or updates that took place between the last restore point was created and when it was applied.

 Re: Looking for Tech Support
Does anyone use the Amazon.com game downloader? I rarely download games to my computer because I don't have that large a hard drive in this day and age (like 80GB...hahaha), but I really wanted a game to play last night and it was cheaper to download than to buy. I've now tried twice to download this game to my computer after purchasing it. The downloader gets to about 85% complete (which takes around six hours to reach, mind you) and then I get an error message saying the download could not be completed. While I don't have tons of hard drive space, I know I have more than enough for this game (requires 12.5GB and I have around 20GB free). I've just now uninstalled and reinstalled the downloader, rebooted my computer earlier, etc. Any other tips and tricks? Because I'm getting tired of waiting for six hour increments of my life to pass by. -- Tue Aug 09, 2011 2:55 am -- As an update (I can't edit my original post anymore, so my apologies for the double post): I tried for a third time to download the game after the uninstall/reinstall of the Amazon downloader and it failed again. After reading reviews, it seems many people have had issues downloading this game and that it's EA, not Amazon, that's creating all the issues. I just downloaded Origin (EA's downloader) and tried to use my product key to download the game directly from them and that didn't work! Suffice to say, I'm incredibly disappointed right now. No reimbursements from either group and EA seems unwilling to do shit about the known issue. Lesson learned: I'm never downloading a game again. And it may be a while before I buy something from EA as well.
