Anyway, I have AVG up here, and it has the virus listed as found. I have 2 buttons underneath saying "Remove Selected Infections" and "Remove All Unhealed Infections". I have tried clicking both. Nothing is actually happening. Nothing is changing.

Dad is actually refusing to help, and said "Do what you'd do if I were still on holiday".

You could try a different antivirus? You'd only need a free trial and there are a couple of web based scanners around that tend to be free.
Just don't try Norton. It's a weed of a program that hides so you can't remove it and then messes with your other software.

On a side note, does anyone know how to de-virus an iPod? I keep getting kicked off google cos it's sending automatic queries.

I am computer illiterate, I don't want to try something else because it means looking for something and trying to understand whatever its saying . I don't like messing with this computer, when something goes wrong it always gets blamed on me.

Have you got AVG set to do automatic scans? If so, it'll pick it up and deal with it then.

Well, it found it in the regular scan, but it didn't delete it. I've actually just done a system restore, and I'm rescanning everything now to see if that did the trick. If not then I might just bang me head on the keyboard for a while and see if that helps Might make me stop caring haha.

I used to use AVG and I seem to remember that the virus would be automatically sent to the chest....Have you looked in there? Did you do a second scan and see if it is still coming up?

I seem to remember having trouble getting rid of it once it was in the chest..... Can't remember where the button is.

glad to hear it..congrats. if you continue to have trouble with AVG,try Avast antivirus.i left AVG for it and have never been sorry. Also its kind of pirate-y
