http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news ... see-where/I was so excited for this, and was hoping we wouldn't have a lot of cloud cover tonight. Thankfully, it thinned just as the apex was approaching for northern Oregon and stayed clear until about the time that the apex passed. However, there was something that bugged me. I saw a lot of cars in the neighborhood (so more than likely, plenty of people home), and yet we were the only ones we saw on our street that went out to watch. Only 500 years ago, this would be an event that was known to throw people into a panic as they took it for ill omen. Yet today, it seems as though the vast majority of people pass by, blissfully unaware to what's taking place right in front of them.
So how many of you watched or are planning to watch? I know there's people on here from all over, so there's bound to be at least a few of you in the right swath of geography.
