God knows we do enough bitching about trends around here; I'm even guilty of starting a thread for that exact purpose. And, of course, you aren't a sheep and don't want to look like everyone else (save those posts for elsewhere, please). But it never hurts to look around for ideas, so I'm posing a dangerous question: Is there anything that you've seen around town, on TV, or in magazines that you like or would like after you were done putting your own spin on it?

Actually I really like the fashion here in Japan, it`s quite different from North America or even Europe. It`s really like a melding of the best parts of every decade and I actually like the glam rocker mullets, overabundance of eyeliner/mascara and slim cut suits with velvet jackets.

Knee-length skirts are pretty popular in Romania...tight from waist to mid-thing, and then they widen up...a bit like fishtail skirts(if that's how they're called. They look gorgeous....especially with fishnets and boots

That is a gorgeous look. I've seen a similar style skirt cropping up everywhere here in the States that utilizes a flared bit of material attached at the bottom of a straight skirt. It's got a sort of 40's feel to it that's attractive.

I'm very much liking the 1940's flavoured fashions that are coming into style at the moment. Pretty and feminine, and so much more attractive than the 70's and 80's crazes seen in recent years, which took the worst fashions of that decade and marketed it "with a noughties spin!"

I really liked the whole pointy shoe craze that went around a few months ago, but I don't know if it counts as I liked pointy shoes before, I was just delighted to be able to pick some up for $10 at Payless or Sears.
*pets her pointy shoes* (:

Leopard print was (or is) pretty big. And I'm a huge fan, if you do it tastefully.
Oh, and newsboy caps are a God-send for bad, big-hair days.
But other than that... Those huge, ugly, hairy Muluck (sp?) style boots that are "in" are just hideous! Why anyone would wear those is beyond me.

Like others here, I love the vintage, forties-inspired trend that is popping up in different places lately. However, locally, another new trend seems to be that of showing up at one of the local diners for breakfast on the weekends in pajamas. Pajamas also seem to be acceptable for late night/early morning grocery shopping. Frankly, I kind of like showing up for breakfast in pajama pants, a sweatshirt, and tennis shoes without anyone looking at me like I'm nuts.

I'm a big fan of the velvet sports jackets for men that are coming out.
I'm in love with the flowy georgette skirts that are so popular nowadays.

The lingerie inspired styles. I'm just a big fan of lace.

I love the skirts with hiphuggers. I dont go out and buy many hiphuggers so I don't have any but that doesn't mean that I dont like them. I like to mix and match them. I also like baggy pants with shirts that cling slightly with high heels. (kinda JLo but its so adorable) The trend that just hollors my name is the old time witch dresses and boots. The kind you see in "The Craft". I dont have one yet but Ill get one.

I like the knee-length lace trimmed skirts trend, combined with pointy toed boots or shoes. And I'm a fan of boys letting their hair grow a bit longer, it's amazing how much better a lot of boys look with an "out of bed" hairdo instead of a buzz cut.

I personally love the colour contrast between black leather / material and silver metal, typical in the metal culture. While I don't like spikes, I absolutely love belt buckles and other such things.

I love knee-length lace and silk skirts. I bought one the other day, it's black with a layer of silk and a layer of lace over the top, it's really elegant and goes great with my boots.

I'm glad to see that wedge heels are the trendy shoe for spring. They're much easier to walk in than stilettos and more flattering (for me anyway) than low heels and flats. I also like the fact that I'm able to find a lot more clothing that's black and pink--it's a color combination that I really like.
