VH1 is having a Sex2K program on tonight, and the episode at 9pm EST is Goth Sex.
I seem to remember that it was MTV that covered this topic a while back, but I'm sure this will be cringeworthy viewing nonetheless.

You got to be fucking with my mind. They suspect people to believe that bullshit? Well, then again,we Americans are pretty gullible people, plus we are a "mysterious" group of people others would like to know about, but this is wrong. They're probably going to show mostly S&M scenes, which are pretty steamy, but not necessarily gothic.

I watched some of it,the fashion seems familiar, but definetly S&M. The couple I watched cut themselves and drank their blood. Which begs me to ask:Why are so many people wondering about our sex lives? We pretty much do the same thing other lovers do to have sex. Sure, there's a few alterations, like lighting and music, but we still do it as a connection between two loved one. Why not talk to rappers, jocks,or preppies about their sex lives? I would think they would have more interesting stories to tell.

Amoulsolo just came on IRC to say it was pretty bad too... I'll be taping the rerun on friday (9.30pm est) so I can see it.
I had no doubt it would be the vampire and bdsm angle... it's been overplayed before. MTV's take on it was the same... assuming this is actually a different show.
Well, people... aim complaints at VH1 I'm sure they have contact details on their website.

People think goths are freaks... and would like confirmation of that fact.
It's tragic considering many people in the fetish scenes are normal people, that scene is bigger than the goth scene is. But I doubt anybody likes to believe that their boss in the 3 piece suit likes to crawl on his knees and get his ass paddled or the executive secretary has a thing for nipple clamps or whatever. And god forbid you look like a freak and like your sex more vanilla than kinky.
And considering the 'college girls revealed' tapes they try and sell on tv, I'm pretty sure the 'normal' crowd has enough stories to tell

It's the same show. Goth Sex was airing on MTV earlier this year. The two networks fused (temporarily?) because MTV is too busy airing the vma broadcasting day and night. I suppose they will both return to normal programming when the Vma's are over.

I'm cringing already.
But Lilith. Why are you going to watch it? WOn't it just piss you off?
and also where do they get all the 'info' from!? do they just make it up? or go to the wrong scources? I'm a little confused. ???
it wouldn't surprise me if they made it up though. people do that.
i remember some people from school got really hyped up after seeing me and my friend in trenchcoats once *sigh* but of course they were soon firmly believing that the whole group we were with were wearing them. and then they were calling us witches for reasons that are beyond me :p
ok thats my story.
bye people.

So am I the only goth out there who is completely NOT into fetish/BDSM? Geez. These shows drive me crazy.

Well folks, I made it through about two hours of work before I got the obligatory:
"Dude, there was this show on VH-1 last night..." [yes, that is a quote...]
I've just spent the last fifteen minutes waving off questions and jabs about what I do with my free time...
However, I do have to admit that apparently the goff stereotype is still far more intriguing than others...I'm certain we won't be seeing Sex 2K: Redneck Sex any time soon...

Who the fuck cares what we do behind our closed doors?!?! Why the fuck should these mainstream pricks feel justified in poking fun at us on the streets . . . but then get all curious and intrigued when it comes to our sex lives? I already know the sad answer to that but I just felt the need to toss in my tiny rant. :p
Fucking sick.
VH1 and Mtv must die. #(

I was very happy when my ex-roommate grasped the concept that 'goth sex' is really no different from 'rap sex'. Smart lad.
Amusing/annoying that even sex has to be foolishly categorized. Freak shows always did draw a crowd though.

You've got me on your side! haha... but then again I plan to remain "virginal" until I get married... only because then I can bitch about it when I'm in my late 20's and then use it as leverage in my late 60's... hehehe... alright... yeah...
...fs!..

I wonder if people ever even realise how utterly fucking RUDE it is to ask someone about their sex life. They'd be mortified if you asked them how many positions they do in the bedroom with their significant other and whether or not they like to tie people up or get whipped or have toys they use or any particularly kinky fetishes.
I've noticed this kind of behaviour happen a lot... if you're some kind of 'freak' (and I'm including people who dress differently and people who have visible disabilities etc. in this) common courtesy and etiquette seems to go out of the window, and you'll get asked questions that they would never ever dare ask a 'normal' person on the street.
Rude fuckers.
