Like I said in my introduction, I'm a casual goth. I may not look the part most of the time or be super hardcore, but I have the basic attitude that makes me gothic enough to be on this site.

interesting topic

myself, I have my background in hardcore/gabber music, and from there discovered more dark and obscure music. When I first visited gabber partys I was just wearing black.. But I'm into all kinds of (experimental/underground) music..
For gothic music I'm more into new industrial as well as 80's industrial.
Somehow I'm not just one thing or an other thing, but a combination of all kind of cultural groups or so.

Casual goth

Based on interests, probably Victorian or Romantigoth. However, my clothing style is like an amalgamation of different types of gothic and alternative styles. I just buy clothes that I like without thinking of them having to fit into a certain style. I don't like restricting myself in any way. I could wear a industrial outfit one day and a bell sleeve gown the next and I'm fine with that.

I'm a casual goth

I find that it is a hard decision to make. I like to listen to EBM and Industrial music and I do love the style and dance of Industrialgoths but I feel so inclined to dress in lace. I have a love for medieval romance books and in future thought to my wardrobe I am considering adding cloaks. My fashion is often a mix of a variety of things which I found to my liking. Such as Miniature Top hats, lace gloves with frills at the ends, (a future fashion choice would be a ring armor), chokers, long skirts with baggy pants(a visual kei style)...I like bands like Dead can Dance, Faith and the Muse, Combichrist, Ravenscry, The Frozen Autumn, etc. I know...it is pretty diverse. But my style with many gothy clothing is combined with things that may not be goth. But I don't consider myself to be a half-breed goth. I just feel that I diversify in the goth spectrum with an Industrial goth and a Romantigoth. It is confusing....I am just me?

I think I'm a cross between a romantic goth (how I feel, and the music), a rivethead (music) and a Victorian goth (mannerisms and literature), however, when I linked a friend to the blackwaterfall page, he said that the romantic goth description described me perfectly. I really, really love the Victorigoth style of dressing, and when I'm older and start earning a decent income there's no doubt about the fact that I'd fill up my wardrobe with such clothes, coupled with a corp goth look for work (I plan on becoming a psychologist)

Romantic goth, I adore the clothing of back then, and am in desperate need of money so as to be able to buy the clothes I love.

I think, in my case, it is easier to say what kind of Goth I am not.

Everything not listed I can be, have been, or am working on becoming. That being said, I have an appreciation of all goth subculture and can understand the draw of each and every one.

There are my two cents, now someone rub them together. It will amuse me.

I prefer to call myself just a Goth, because I like to dress and act in a somewhat darker fashion than most of the people around me, even though I'm often mistaken as a metalhead (which, I guess, isn't wholly false, since I listen to a lot of metal music and I'm in a metal band), even though I listen to EBM, industrial and ambient as often as I do metal. I dunno

Just Goth, I don't commit to any subgenres seriously enough for anything else. ;P

As far as fashion style goes I dress with a mix of Corp/Rivet/Gothabilly/Metal...I'm still me personally, in the abysmal dark or the blinding light.

We all talk about what kind of goth we are, but no one ever replies to our posts. kinda weird.
